My collection grew with 4 more titles

Recommended Posts

As someone may have noticed, since I mentioned in another couple of threads, I just added four titles to my Jag drawer 'o 'games.

The very funny part is that I bought them from:

1. germany via Ebay

2. Nick at 1632 UK

3. Songbird USA

and they have been delivered NOT ONLY the very same day, but BUNDLED TOGETHER!!!

It is such a coincidence that it seems done on purpose.

OK, the titles are

Total Carnage

I read that somebody finished it :o in an hour or so, at his first try.

It took a day to me to figure out the controls :P

Now I just put a single step after the first stage, and I'm dead.

I also noticed that this is one of the "ELITE" games that make my thumb hurt...

Flip out

Many told me that it was fun. Well, they were RIGHT!

There are some flaws, though, that could have been fixed.

As an example, it doesn't seem very polished that when you complete a board, ALL the aliens stand up and cheer, even the ones that were *under* your tiles, that now just seem misplaced.

Breakout 2000

I don't like the perspective they choose. They could have let the player adjust it...

Other than that, I can say it's a nice relaxing (not actually) goldie-oldie.

Cannon fodder.

Hey, I have to work, you know?

I can't stay and play all day long!

So, one of these days, I'll update my own ratings at

Total Carnage - Pricey but appreciated. I will probably pick this up in the future, since I can honestly say I have more games for the Jaguar than any other gaming system. :)

(I have a few games for the Nuon, Intillivision, GameCube, Playstation, NES, SNES 5200, and Lynx. My 2600 games are in the FAMILY collection with my dad, and the Atari 800 and Mac don't count, since they are computers. Even still, I have more CARTRIDGES for the Jaguar than I do the Atari 800... heheh...)

(My goal, no system in my collection will have more games than my Jaguar!!)

Flip Out - Fun game. It is like the real life experience/frustration of working a puzzle and having a cat compete for your attention. :D

Breakout 2000 - Love it!! Love Breakout period, glad this was made for the Jaguar! Now all we need... is Arkanoid! (Which I thought someone was working, and taking submissions for screen designs at one time?)

Cannon Fodder -

"War... Never been so much fun

War.. never been so much fun

Go to your brother

Kill 'em with a gun

Leave him lying in his uniform

Dying in the sun"

(repeat times infinity or until you hit play)

The theme song that got banned in the UK in the early 90's. That is just rich.

Anyway, great game. It is like Southpark with gernades and rocket launchers. Can't get much better than that. :D

Atari 800... now you brought a tear in my eyes:

Back in the days, I had an 800XL with the tape, a graphics tablet, quite a lot of cartridges, ad some kooool tapes, mainly bought via mail orders from UK dealers.

But Italy is a b*tch of a market, veryveryvery bad cumputer consumers are we.

So A800 quickly disappeared from the scene, and since the Internet wasn't around, and newsmagazines were rarer and scarcer, and even the 'newspaper shops' who used to have international computer magazines stopped having them, I had to get rid of it  :_(

Breakout 2000, fun game

I like it especially in 2-playermode, it is only a bug when the one player dies and the other has about 3 balls left

When I got it, I was amazed that this game has such a low framerate, since it does not seem to push the hardware to its limits.....

But I got over it, and enjoy the game

All those games you got Paolo are great games!

-Total Carnage: Well what can I say, I've played this through already like 5-6 times, there are so many warps and secret stages to find and unlock(with specific keys), its worth repeating the game over and over, plus it's always funny to hear Ahk-Boobs non-English mumbo jumbo. One of the best games on Jaguar.

-Flip-Out!: Fun game, but I can't get very far. The graphics IMHO are fantastic, they remind me of Clayfighter.

-Breakout 2000: You said it...its relaxing. Excellent gameplay, and some really cool and relaxing sound effects...I can go for about 30 minutes before I want to take a nap.

-Cannon Fodder: It's so hard without a keyboard/mouse. Great game anyway.

Perhaps I'll pick up Total Carnage next paycheck. Hmmm...

Flip Out... just downright cute. I've gotten to mount rushmore.. which I remember was a fairly good ways into the game. Like I say, like solving a puzzle and having a cat around. You learn to try to ignore what the cats are doing.

Breakout 2000... nice nice! Wish we could code in rotary control, but that is it.

Funny thing, something similar happened to me the other day. I purchased two Jaggy games for a birthday present to myself ( :P ) : Towers II from Nick ( 16/32 Systems) and Breakout 2000 from Telegames UK. They were both purchased on different days but came the same day bundled together. This just seems to be the postmans handywork, but i found it interesting that both items came together at the same time. NOT that i'm complaining, me loves getting several presents on the same day! :D

Serblander, what are your first impressions of towers II?

949290[/snapback]

I've only played the first level so far but i like it a lot! :D I've wanted to get this game ever since i saw it years ago, as i'm a nut for RPG's! If you liked Dungeon Master and Eye of the Beholder, then chances are that you will like this one too! The biggest difference between Towers II and the other 2 games are:

 In Towers II you only control 1 of the 4 characters, as opposed to a party of 4

 The mouse and keyboard are substituted for the Jag-pad! Not too bad once you get used to it! :)
