Mindfield #1 Posted October 16, 2005 Okay, for some reason I always thought this was called Bounty Bob Strikes Back, despite having no direct relation to the Miner 2049er games, but now I can't for the life of me remember the title. I know the title had "strikes back" (or something very close) in the title -- I remember this because it was a cool game and I always wondered what the prequel was. The synopsis: You were a little guy running collecting gold bars off platforms and avoiding the creatures that are roaming around. The game is one level, probably about 4 or 5 scrolling screens high. Periodically, some of the gold bars would turn into mushroom-shaped things and collecting them was worth more points or something. Upon your death, a fast-paced segment of "When The Saints Go Marching In" is played as your character turns into an angel and flies upwards off the screen. It's kind of like Caverns of Khafka, only vertically scrolling. What was it called?

deathtrappomegranate #3 Posted October 16, 2005 It does sound like "Dan Strikes Back" - although you were collecting diamonds, and trampling the mushies...
Mindfield #4 Posted October 16, 2005 That was it! Dan Strikes Back. I knew someone was striking back. Was there ever a game before Dan had anyone to strike back at?

Diamonds, also written by Simon Hunt, was released by English Software the previous year, and also featured "Digger Dan" as the main protagonist.
