What stores/e-stores sell Genesis Games?

Recommended Posts

Even though I have seriously curtailed my sega genesis purchasing, I am still looking to find those last ten or so games I've been hunting. The funcoland and gamestop stores in my area do not sell genesis carts. Game Crazy does, but at this point I've picked them clean (I'll go again in a month). And I obviously know about ebay.

Where else can I buy sega genesis games? I'd also love to stay away from places that ask for premium pricing. For example, I'm looking to obtain Alien Solider, but I do not to shell out $109.99!

I did and have not received any replies. UPDATE - ACTUALLY, IVE GOTTEN A GREAT RESPONSE FROM PEOPLE CONTACTING ME. I'VE BOUGHT SOME HARD TO FIND/EXPENSIVE GAMES TO ROUND OUT MY COLLECTION. I'D DEFINATELY RECOMMEND THE MARKETPLACE FOR THOSE LOOKING TO PICKUP GAMES THEY'VE HAD A HARD TIME FINDING.

THERE SEEM TO BE MANY PEOPLE SELLING OFF THEIR COLLECTIONS IN ORDER TO:

A) GET ENGAGED/MARRIED (NEED MONEY FOR RING/HONEYMOON)

B) PAY DOWN CREDIT CARDS BEFORE GETTING MARRIED

C) GET FIANCE /WIFE OFF BACK ABOUT THE # OF HOURS THEY PLAY GAMES

D) START SKIMMING DOWN THEIR FIANCE/HUSBAND'S COLLECTION WITHOUT THEIR KNOWLEDGE

E) GET RID OF THEIR EX-HUSBAND'S COLLECTION (See the DVD "High Fidelity" Deleted scenes for HILARIOUS perspective

F) ALL OF THE ABOVE OR PROGRESSION OF SUCH!

TO ALL OF YOU, I TIP MY WIFE'S 6-INCH STILLETO, STEEL-TIPPED SHOE, FILLED WITH VODKA & TOAST YOU - TO US ALL!!!

I was hoping someone knew of a good web-site or a national video game store (like Game Crazy) that still sells genesis.

Game X-Change sells Genesis games. Be wary of the prices, though. Hopefully the average Game X-Change has a better selection than the one closest to me.

Also check out music shops, especially ones that sell used CDs. There is this store here in Chicago it's called Music Recyclery and you can buy or sell just about any game or console there.

Game Trader, a local chain of stores (maybe larger than a local chain, but I've not seen them outside the GNO Area), sells used consoles and games for the various popular systems, including Genesis.

From the look of it, seems like there are other store chains popping up to handle retro-gaming. Best bet would be to check out such a place. Most games there are cheap; it's where I've bought a number of my PS1 and PS2 and my SNES games.

And where my sister got our mom a 2600, with all appropriate cables and controls (as we still have all our 2600 games).

Retro-gaming store is your best chance at the game you want cheap.

thats all fine ,and well AMG except for the fact that i don't find places like Ebay, Half ,and Amazon very trust worthy to buy from considering its user to user based not an actual store.

Ah, another Marylander. I was just up in the northern parts of the Poconos on vacation a few weeks ago and found Genny and SMS carts absolutely everywhere. Bought a whole grocery bag of them for a total of about $20, mostly boxed, average price around $2. Nothing rare I'm sure but my Genny collection isn't that big.

Still, $20 is awesome for a grocery bag full of games. At the least, you can package dupes and put them on ebay or sell them to people who are filling in their own collections. So, what did you get?;-)

Many stores sell through Amazon, as well as user to user. I've been shopping there for years and haven't had one single problem.

But to each his own.

I don't remember everything...a lot of what I bought was concentrated on games my 5 year old kids could play as well as bolstering my SMS collection. The ones I remember:

Tiny Toons Arena (Genny)

Power Rangers (Genny)

Bonanza Brothers (Genny, complete)

Duke Nukem (N64 complete)

Choplifter (SMS complete)

Cloud Master (SMS complete, neat game)

Thunder Master (SMS complete)

Global Defense (SMS complete)

There were a few more that I no longer remember, my kids have mixed them in with the rest of my collection.

Actually the kids really, really dig Tiny Toons. Definitely recommend to anyone else with young kids who they're trying to turn into drooling video game addicts.
