joeybastard #2 Posted October 28, 2005 I always liked Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts best but I've enjoyed all of the various games in this series I've played.
Lord Helmet #3 Posted October 28, 2005 (edited) I like all of them, but Ghosts n Goblins got a huge amount of play on my NES back in the day. Edited October 28, 2005 by Lord Helmet
+FujiSkunk #4 Posted October 28, 2005 Ghosts 'n' Goblins all the way. Excellent music on the C-64.
NE146 #5 Posted October 28, 2005 Ghosts and Goblins started it all. But to me.. it's all about the Ghouls and Ghosts. Tops for the series imho
silverpoodleman #6 Posted October 28, 2005 (edited) I like Ghouls 'N Ghosts as it started the medieval warrior adventure genre mixed with a horror movie twist. I love the seemingly endless types of creatures - my favorite being the vomitting trolls! The only notable weak spot is the fact that once armor-wearing-dude loses his armor, he's running around in his boxers (or are they briefs? OK, I got it - low-rise mesh bikini). While funny, I kinda wish he were a she running around in a thong or something. Finding a treasure chest and getting it open, for me, is less about getting more protection by wearing the armor and more about covering up the underoos. hepcat #7 Posted October 28, 2005 Has anyone here ever actually beaten Ghouls 'n Ghosts? One afternoon I put that game on unlimited lives (Mame version) and played it for two hours and I still couldn't beat it. --Jason
Cybergoth #8 Posted October 28, 2005 Hi there! Has anyone here ever actually beaten Ghouls 'n Ghosts? One afternoon I put that game on unlimited lives (Mame version) and played it for two hours and I still couldn't beat it. IIRC I beat it on the Genesis back in the day. sega saturn x #10 Posted October 30, 2005 Most will think I'm crazy but i had more fun with maximo vs. the army of zin than with any of the other games on the list. I thought it was a great hack and slash and it never got me frustrated when i was playing, now I call that a bonus.

One afternoon I put that game on unlimited lives (Mame version) and played it for two hours and I still couldn't beat it. --Jason You've gotta be kidding me. Ghouls and Ghosts is by far the easiest one of them all to beat! And I say that because you can shoot up and down as well which makes things a lot easier. Did I beat it? The Genesis version is accurate enough that if you can beat that then you can beat it anywhere including the arcade version. And yeah, I could beat it regularly. Ghosts and Goblins however... THAT'S the hard one!
Sharky #12 Posted October 30, 2005 I'm the opposite, I found Ghost'n'Goblins quite easy and Ghouls'n'Ghosts way too hard.
Haunted #13 Posted October 31, 2005 (edited) Were you playing it on the NES? That version's difficulty was greatly reduced from the arcade. For the GnG trilogy, I like the overall feel of Ghosts the best, but the game's so hard that a lot of the time it isn't much fun to play. The boss fight against the two Satans was one of the toughest I've ever seen; I wasn't able to beat it without using a save state. There're tons of gargoyles too, and you don't have a reliable way to kill them like in the other games. But Demon's Crest blows all the others away. It had a really dark gothic style, and lots of replayability with the alternate paths and hidden bosses. It's too bad the game did so poorly in the U.S. I heard one week it actually generated negative sales since more people were returning the game than buying it. SwedenLynxer #14 Posted October 31, 2005 This is one of my favorite game series. Although I don't consider Maximo to be "real" G'n G. Im glad Capcom is going back to the roots with the new upcoming game for the PSP. Anyone heard any news about that game BTW?

Foxsolo2000 #16 Posted October 31, 2005 I voted Ghosts and Goblins as it was the only one I ever played
Rick Weis #17 Posted November 2, 2005 i voted maximo (the 1st in the series) since you put it on the list. if it wasn't i would had picked S-GnG. Maximo has that "classic feel" of a game when i play it. and it's in 3-D Rick

Flojomojo #19 Posted November 2, 2005 Jeez, I don't know. All these games seemed pretty much the same to me, both then and now. Gargoyle's Quest is the only one I finished, so let's choose that ...
