Lauren Tyler #1 Posted October 31, 2005 (edited) Hey folks, I just acquired an Intellivision 2 yesterday at the NECG trademeet, but I seem to have a few problems. 1. Is it normal for the action buttons to feel 'stiff?' 2. A couple of my controllers (I got extras) don't seem to be working right in terms of the keypad, and when I'm playing AD&D my character moves diagonally sometimes even though I don't think I'm pressing diagonally. Is this because of the slanted hallways in some dungeons? (Note: I figured out the problem with the items. Those are just decorations!) SteveW #2 Posted October 31, 2005 Yes, it's quite normal for your fire buttons to feel stiff. In fact, they should normally feel hard as a rock. I've never liked the Intellivision controller's buttons. They don't give any tactile feedback like a lot of Atari controllers do. I guess that the keypad might have a button problem in AD&D Cloudy Mountain, although i've never heard of keypads going bad. I've always heard about problems with the control disc going out, but not keypads. Just switch controller one with controller two, and see if that helps. Lauren Tyler #3 Posted October 31, 2005 Thanks Steve. It turns out they were just decorations, and the keypad does work.

They're not as reponsive (at least IMO) and the buttons are stiffer than a standard model 1s.
SteveW #5 Posted November 14, 2005 The only good thing about the Intellivision II controllers it that they are replaceable. Before INTV Corporation closed down, I bought two replacement controllers to switch with my worn out ones. And I bought a pair of those little clip-on joysticks too. Lord Thag #6 Posted November 15, 2005 I believe you can rewire original Intellivision sticks with a standard DB9 connector, if you have a non-op Intellivision I or III. I prefer those systems anyway, the INTV 2 just feels like cheap junk to me.

Instead, they managed to do the impossible -- make EVEN WORSE controllers....
