Any good arcades in Oklahoma City?

Recommended Posts

god I wish.

Actually, the last time I was @Crossroads mall (2 years ago...that mall sucks big time) the arcade there was still ok. Classic games near the back, all the new fighter, ddr types up front. I-35 and I-240 can't miss it.

There are a couple more OKC area guys here...maybe they can chime in.

What area of OKC are you going to be in?

Most of the malls have arcades of varying quality. There are also several kid-friendly places like Chuck E. Cheese, Celebration Station and Incredible Pizza that all have games. On the corner of NW 10th and Council Road is Cactus Jack's arcade ( www.cactusjacksokc.com ), which has a nice mix of new and old games (complete game list on their site).

I have Q*Bert, Karate Champ, Gauntlet II and lots of other games in my own personal arcade. Unfortunately, I'll be out of town this weekend or I would just tell you to come over and bring quarters. :)

According to Mapquest I live 6.07 miles from Cactus Jack's. That place was a big influence on my childhood -- so much, in fact, that my MAME cabinet is named Cactus Flack's. :)

If you are looking for a medium-sized arcade with a mix of old and new (more new than old but what can you do), it's worth a trip out. Last time I was there they had a Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga anniversary machine, an original Defender, a Robotron, and a few other classic machines. There are quite a few driving games and quite a few shooting games, and three or four pinball tables. There are also a ton of pool tables.

Yeah, I was going to suggest Cactus Jacks too. :)

I was there about 2 years ago, and it was pretty good, better then any other place I've seen here.

I will be traveling to Oklahoma City from Chicago this weekend and was wondering if anyone knew of any good arcades in the area.

So, did you make it to any local arcades?

Wow! I haven't been to an arcade in quite a while.

The last one I frequented was Alladin's Castle in Lynnahven Mall in Virginia Beach.

I've set foot in a couple of arcades in OKC, but I didn't stick around long enough to play any games.

That one in Crossrads is still Le Mans, ain't it? I vaguely remember them having something to do with Aladdin's Castle.

There's a new place, Incredible Pizza, on NW Expressway (SH 3) in Warr Acres. I wanna say it's close to MacArthur, but I can't remember right off.

Really, though, I don't hang out in an arcade too much because I could spend that money on home systems. The $40 I'd spend on Hydro Thunder each week in Lynnhaven easily covered the cost of both the DC and N64 versions of that same game, plus the memory card, force feedback, and memory upgrades needed.

Yep, East of MacArthur, on the north side of the NW X-Way.
