opening a 5300 cart without damage

Recommended Posts

Probably depends on the style of cart. Some third party carts have the screws under the label, so you'll need to remove the label first or poke the screwdriver right thtu the label if you don't care and remove the screws..

I think most your 1st party ones have the screws on the back, don't you jsut remove to open her up? I don't think I've ever opened any 5200 carts ever. :ponder:

First party carts are opened up by removing the screw on the back that is correct. However, the shells are still held together with tabs on the inside. There are 3 snap in places along each side. The ones along the top and bottom area are about a half inch along the side. The middle one is just that...in the middle. It might be offset a tad, but it's pretty dang close. I use a small jeweler's screwdriver flathead to carefully push in the tabbed sections and carefully pry apart.
