treetsux #5 Posted November 7, 2005 in the ads on mr pinball, some of the ads say it was just shopped or it needs shopped. What does that involve and roughly what is the cost? thanks
[email protected] #6 Posted November 7, 2005 (edited) Hey- "Shopped" This is probably the most loosley defined word in buying pinball machines. Some people might run a rag over the playfield, and call it shopped, while other spend countless hours rebuilding and cleaning EVERY part in the game. I would define shopped as: New Rubbers All playfield lamps replaced Flippers rebuilt (New links, plungers, sleeve, EOS switch, bushing) Playfield stripped, then cleaned and waxed Replace any broken playfield parts All parts cleaned and polished, including under playfield troughs. Veryifying and testing the game to make sure it works and plays 100%. New balls Clean switch contacts and adjust as necessary I consider the above to be fully shopped. I know many many others myself included go way above this list, but I would consider that "restored" rather than shopped. I would personally ask the person what they did during the shop job. I have seen people sell filthy broken machines as "shopped". Bottom line is you should perform the work yourself, or have a reputable seller perform this.
