Anyone tried out Radica's Sega Genesis TV games?

Recommended Posts

I got the Street Fighter II one which comes with Ghouls N Ghost, both are Sega Genesis version of those game. And the emulation is perfect, infact the picture quality looks like a Sega Genesis game. In fact I don't know if they actually emulate it, or just use a Genesis on a chip type thing, sorta like NOAC but better. These games are genesis perfect ports.

Genesis on a chip is a lot easier than NES on a chip. Sega used off-the-shelf parts almost exclusively in the Genny, so the components are largely well-documented standard pieces.

And Sega's also been known to license the hardware out before(see Genesis 3), so I wouldn't be surprised if they were using a Sega-designed chip anyways.

Funny as a more powerful system manages to get a perfect Genesis on a Chip, and that there isn't a NES perfect on a chip.

Like I said, the Genesis is mostly well-documented standard parts, and the NES is mostly proprietary custom chips.

Power's really got very little to do with the ease of cloning.
