NightSprinter #1 Posted November 12, 2005 Just like the topic states, is it really worth it for those of us who have a damaged/fried motherboard to fix them using new ICs or should I just buy a new board from Best Electronics altogether? I love how the XEGS is a fully-fledged console AND computer in one.. but after I stupidly fried the board with a C64 power supply I'd like to get my XEGS unit back up and running. Does anyone have suggestions as to what I should do? P.S. (warning: off-topic) Does anyone have a map for the game "Draconus"? I can NEVER figure out where I'm going outside of getting the transformation, defense, and illusion blocker items.

NightSprinter #3 Posted November 12, 2005 YES! Thank you! I've been looking for that. Now to go back on-topic, anyone have an answer regarding the XEGS board?
birdie3 #4 Posted November 12, 2005 I see loose XEGS consoles on ebay all the time. That is probably your best short of posting in the Wanted forum. Don't waste your money on a new XEGS mobo.
+Mitch #5 Posted November 12, 2005 I think I have a spare XEGS with power supply, no keyboard. Let me know if you are interested. Mitch

NightSprinter #7 Posted November 12, 2005 Be quiet, Patrick. But yeah, I'll send you a PM Mitch. Maybe I could at least see if I can get a friend to de-solder the 12294B (XL/XE POKEY) chip and use it when I can spare some cash from next term's disbursement for a CC2.
