Mindfield #1 Posted November 12, 2005 Unexpectedly, I won this for what seems to be a pretty good price. I expected it to go higher than that, especially considering the label condition -- which, upon further consideration, seems perhaps a little too clean. It looks pretty much like the one listed in the AA database, though a bit nicer, but it's not like it's a hard label to fake, either. I'm probably just being paranoid, but I get suspicious when I see (and especially win cheaply) rare games with really nice labels.
Wester #2 Posted November 12, 2005 He has good feedback, and is selling a bunch of other smi-rare games. I don't see why it wouldn't be legit. Is there any way to tell if it is a repro label?
+Omegamatrix #3 Posted November 12, 2005 Looking at the front labels the one in the database fills the entire cart while the eBay one is cut shorter. Hard to tell if it's legit or not by that though. You'll have to wait until you get the cart to get a better idea. Hope it's gold.
Shawn #4 Posted November 12, 2005 I've bought some pretty rare stuff from that guy before and it was all good. Don't knwo him or anything, but I have got legit rares from him before. Hope it turns out for the best.
deathtrappomegranate #5 Posted November 13, 2005 He sells lots of stuff, and his FB is pretty good. I've seen many of his auctions before, and never had a reason to worry so far.
Mindfield #6 Posted November 13, 2005 Well, hopefully it all turns out okay. I ended up winning Guardian from him as well, so I guess I can use that >$100 eBay coupon after all (since I missed out when I bought a digital camera a few days back). Dino #8 Posted November 13, 2005 That guy sells quite a few rares and seems pretty legit. I think texas is starting to go a bit cheaper now as there have been SO many in the past couple of months on Ebay. They'll probably stop being sold now and the price will go up again, so it was probably a great time for you to pick that title up. Congrats!

Congrats! 964419[/snapback] That's what I was thinking -- well, that, and it's the weekend. Not a Sunday-calibre score but decent just the same. Now I need to find Halloween and Lochjaw. crunchysuperman #10 Posted November 13, 2005 I've bought from him before & seemed pretty solid to me.
AtariAger #11 Posted November 13, 2005 Looks Kosher too me...I've had alot TCM's carts...There different in their own way! Basically...there are shiny type labels and a dull type. All the end labels appear to look almost waxy. That's just what I've observed with them.
Mindfield #12 Posted November 13, 2005 Well, that's sort of what had me leaning to the "legit" side -- Wizard wasn't exactly a big software house, so it was reasonable to assume that their production budgets were fairly low, and thus QC on label printing (and for that matter stock type) was probably minimal, resulting in slight variations in size and appearance. It wouldn't surprise me if their instruction to the printers included "Just use whatever leftover adhesive stock you've got lying around from other print runs."
