silverpoodleman #26 Posted November 17, 2005 There really isn't much to it. Just get the double green chaser gun, aim upwards (or angle up), and hold down the fire button. Although the chaser beam is much weaker than most other weapons, you can just run around and dodge while it does all the work (no aiming required). This works for 95% of the game, although some parts may require a bit more strategy. Tempest Thanks. I'll give that a shot...as it were.

J.Max #28 Posted November 18, 2005 Hardy McDifficult and the Temple of Impossibility. 967682 Yup, Batman and Robin is BY FAR the hardest game on the Genny. Harder than Contra. Harder than any Mega Man game. Imagine about a hundred goons attacking you at once and your only defense is a Batarang. Now you can only throw two Batarangs at the same time, and it takes three hits to kill one goon. I remember when it came out...even GameFan magazine hated it because it was so stupid hard. I grade all games on the Batman and Robin scale. For example, Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox is a .9 Batman and Robin difficulty.
Atarifever #29 Posted November 18, 2005 Gunstar Heroes hard? Really? I guess I never noticed because it was such a great game. I never had any trouble beating it, but then again I consider myself a pro-gamer. My strategy is get the double green seeker gun and let it do all the work...965834 ...And you give lessons on how to do this? 965904 There really isn't much to it. I use the double, what's it called, straight shot (I'd look it up, but I'm going to sleep now)? The thing that shoots really fast. That twice is the way I beat the game. I've always used double chaser, except for one or two boss fights where another weapon could kill them in an instant. Double Chaser is definetly a 'slow' killer. RickHarrisMaine #31 Posted November 18, 2005 Well, I'm pretty new at the system, but last night Sonic was harder than most times, but I wasn't wearing my glasses either.......
Quadhorn #32 Posted November 19, 2005 Aww, bless ... lil' Sonic. S'fair enough when you start - I recall, many years ago, an evening of raging madness at falling into the Chemical Plant ooze everytime I met up with Robotnik in Sonic 2. Well, I was small at the time. Ahem. Back to the subject at hand - would I get slapped down for Zombies (Ate My Neighbours) or good ol' Streets of Rage 3? Zombies was insane. Fun but insane. SoR 2 was easy going feel-good goon-slapping fun, yet SoR 3 left you feeling you'd have been better flicking your enemy with a wet towel rather than using the limp punches of the Good Guys. What happened? It made the harder settings near impossible just because you couldn't do anything to the goons (and not even scratch Robot Y) within the time limits. atarilovesyou #33 Posted November 19, 2005 ..yep, ol Zombies Ate My Neighbours... who could forget? "ANTS"...or we'd Dieter-ize it (SNL) and go "...AHHHHHNTZ!" ...and good ol' "Dances with Werewolves"....sob! ..good stuff, we always played the SNES version, tho. AlexKIDD #34 Posted November 21, 2005 I'll agree with anyone who said Contra hard corps, maybe the hardest game on the system. Gaiares is another tough one. Great game but I could never get anywhere in it without the code. I never had any problem with Gunstar Heroes but then again I don't think i've ever played it on the hard setting. I remember it took me like 8000 years before I was finally able to beat Darius Twin, and then I played Gaiares, and I sucked all over again. That game is tough. J.Max #38 Posted November 23, 2005 That speed run on Batman and Robin is impressive, but even in the comments, he says that the game is very difficult. That game is ridiculous...if Contra is next to impossible, than B&R is impossible. I still think it's the hardest game on the system. Gaiares has nothing to do with Darius, BTW, but there is a game for the Genny called Sagaia which is really Darius II with a different name. Don't know why they changed it for the US release since it was called Darius II in Japan.

Mark III #42 Posted December 1, 2005 Dark Castle is the hardest and most unfair game on the Genesis. It's also one of the worst, if anyone has ever had the stomach to play this game to the end then color me impressed. Contra was a tough game but got easier once you memorized the attck patterns. I did get a lot of satisfaction out of eventually beating it though it took me a good month or so of playing before I was able to, on the paltry 3 lives you get. BTW: The chaser weapon on Gunstar Heroes is mostly useless on the hard difficulty setting. The best configuration in my opinion is a player with the stationary shot so you can stop and pivot your line of fire. My weapon of choice was the Blue laser and red fire powerups that gave you a kind of lightsabre weapon, really powerful, especially when mixed up with the diving jump kick. If you enjoyed Gunstar Heroes then it's really worth beating on the hardest difficulty as I noticed the bosses seemed to have a lot of different attacks they don't use on the other difficulty levels. Mark III #44 Posted December 1, 2005 No, unfortunately the ending is the same, you just get the satisfaction of kicking the games ass by beating anything it could throw at you. The chaser weapon is very effective on easy and normal, but seems to do very little damage on Hard settings, especially against the boss. Actually a lot of times during the stages it's actually more effective to just grab enemies and toss them into eachother than actually shoot them.
