Fres #1 Posted November 14, 2005 Was there an official joystick version of Circus Atari. I only remember seeing the paddle version, but I believe there is a dump of a joystick version as well. Was it a hack or an official release? Just curious.
The_Laird #2 Posted November 14, 2005 I think its joystick on emulators and on the flashback.
joeybastard #3 Posted November 14, 2005 It's probably a hack for use with emulators. I can't see any reason Atari would release a joystick version. That game is meant for paddles.

silverpoodleman #5 Posted November 14, 2005 I cannot imagine this game without the paddle. One of those 10-in-1 oversized Atari joystick plug-in games had a version of breakout with which you were supposed to use the oversized paddle. I think I played it about four times before uttering a single word under my breath ("Desecration!"). Soon after, I gave that joystick-abomination to a relative. Circus Atari with a joystick would lose the micro-inch movements that are so essential to failing miserably with this game.
Fres #6 Posted November 15, 2005 Thanks for the responses. Oh, I agree that it's a paddle-only game. I was curious about an official joystick release only because such a thing would serve an injustice to anyone who tried to buy/play it. Especially since, during it's original release, paddles were abundant (and even included with every 2600).
