DominiRican05
I'm getting a little bored of my current selection of CV games, and wanted to know which other titles are popular among members of the board. Titles which I enjoy so far are Spy Hunter, Root Beer Tapper, Frogger, and Q Bert. Titles which I'm not so hot about are Venture and Donkey Kong. joeybastard
I play my CV a lot but the games I always come back to are: Q*Bert's Qubes(expensive and difficult to find but an excellent game) Miner 2049er H.E.R.O. Wargames Zenji The Heist 2010 Sky Jaguar Astro Invader Nova Blast Moonsweeper
Bill Brasky
Try Fortune Builder(with instructions) and Gateway to Apshai(with instructions), both lengthy, deep games. Also, Jumpman Junior, BC's Quest for tires 2, Galaxian, Defender, Moon Patrol(proto), Ladybug, Montezuma's Revenge, Sewer Sam, Up 'n' Down. Hopefully Opcode's Pac Man Collection will be released soon.

SteveW
Spectar should be coming out any time soon. I played the life out of the beta version on show at the Dallas VGXpo. It's a good 'un.
Lord Helmet
I like: Gorf SI Collection Burgertime Omega Race Defender Galaxian Zaxxon Basically most of the arcade ports, since its what the cv does best
Vic George 2K3
Mostly play CV in emulation, but Smurf Rescue is what I tend to play the most of.
joeybastard
Mostly play CV in emulation, but Smurf Rescue is what I tend to play the most of. 966768 While I think Smurf looks beautiful for it's time, don't you find it less than challenging? I mean even on level 4, it's very very easy.
Mister VCS
I like River Raid, Time Pilot and DK Jr. Is Moonsweeper on the CV as fast as the 2600 version?
chuckwalla
Try: Popeye (good port, cheap, and common) Bump N Jump (best port and you can use a standard controller or wheel) Congo Bongo (best port, challenging, and addicting) It's hard to be bored with a large library of Colecovision games
joeybastard
Is Moonsweeper on the CV as fast as the 2600 version? 966833 No, I think it's a lot better paced making it more fun to play for me. I find the VCS one too fast.
Vic George 2K3
Mostly play CV in emulation, but Smurf Rescue is what I tend to play the most of. While I think Smurf looks beautiful for it's time, don't you find it less than challenging? I mean even on level 4, it's very very easy. Actually, Level 4 is the only level that's even challenging enough for me to handle, with the birds and bats not only moving fast, but also doubling back to get me from behind. And sometimes, because the arrangements of the obstacles in the cave and field zones are so random (you can even change the arrangements by having Smurf briely go back to the screen he left and then return), the bird and bat movements can get you in a place you don't want them to get you. The thing I don't like about CV Smurf is that the difficulty doesn't increase as you play (except if you're playing Level 3, where the third time around brings the game difficulty up to Level 4), whereas the Atari 2600 version DOES cause the difficulty to increase as you continue, up to Level 4. Anyway, as much as I enjoy playing this game over and over, the overall game does make me wish Gargamel could have been included as an enemy on the very last screen, where Smurfette awaits -- even if he appears no bigger than Smurf-size! Foxsolo2000
Mr Do's Castle was one of my favourite as was Mr Do. I liked Frontline too but most people found it too frustrating
joeybastard
I like Frontline a lot too. I actually like it a lot more than the similar Commando on some of the other consoles. I forgot to mention earlier that I play Squish 'Em a lot too. The CV version is my favorite even over the 8bit computer versions.

Before I even bought a Colecovision, I was drooling over screenshots of Smurfs -- it just looked so advanced for its time, like a pre-Super Mario Bros. When I first played it on MESS I was really blown away. I enjoyed the music and the bright colors and the attention to detail, and likewise I could only play on Level 4. But once I finally beat it, there was no thrill left in the game, and it became too easy. I'm assuming the game is so easy because it was aimed at kids? I was hoping they could've done more. I would've liked more obstacles, and the possibility of retaliating -- perhaps against Gargamel. Although, I guess I might've been asking too much of a game that came out so long ago. I've found BC's Quest for Tires to be a much better platformer.

Smurf Rescue Antarctic Adventure BC's Quest for Tires Miner 2049er Choplifter Jumpman Jr. Tarzan is an overlooked game but one of the best I've played for the system and Miner and BC Quest are good on just about every system. Mister VCS
Found this old thread and I think it is the time for an update: my best of list today (not in order): River Raid Mouse Trap Subroc Lady Bug Donkey Kong Junior Turbo Popeye Q*bert Antarctic Adventure Wing War Miner 2049er Time Pilot Space Panic and Pepper II are both new in my collection - both looks interesting but I had no time to play these games until today... BTW: is Slurpy a fun game? Edited December 28, 2008 by Mister VCS
schuwalker
I actually find the Cabbage Patch game(Adventure in park) pretty fun!!!!
cimerians
These are the games I always go back and play: HERO (the 2600 version is just as good) Tarzan Wargames (you need to get used to the keypad) Ladybug Tutankham Miner 2049er Jumpman Jr. Choplifter Quest for Tires Smurf Rescue Antarctic Adventure 2010 is pretty good too. Wargames is a fantastic game once you get used to the keypad and know what to click on. You need the overlay to see what to press.
Rik
Jungle Hunt is really good for the CV also.
