Fres #1 Posted November 17, 2005 AtariAge lists these two titles in the rarity guide as North American NTSC releases. However, Digital Press lists them as non-US releases. They also do not appear on Cowering's Good2600 1.00 list (the actual rom dumps on AA are not even identified). Where these released in the US? What's the story? Just curious. video game addict #2 Posted November 17, 2005 Released by Puzzy in Canada (NTSC) They exist also under Bitcorp in PAL format & Puzzy in PAL format.. which maybe came from Germany? Not sure. Bitcorp versions are more common. THe NTSC Puzzy's have all be found in Canada. Must just not be dumped yet, but they do exist. I've seen several auctions for them over the past year or so. Rom Hunter #3 Posted November 17, 2005 Puzzy was a trademark of Bit Corporation. Bit Corporation is from Taiwan.
Fres #4 Posted November 17, 2005 Thanks for the info. They do appear to be dumped (and available from AA).

Spirantho #6 Posted November 18, 2005 Plus I think Puzzy is basically the name Bit Corp used for North American releases of their games. Certainly if anyone can show me a genuine PAL Puzzy game I'd be surprised.... (go on! Surprise me!)
video game addict #7 Posted November 18, 2005 I find it strange that there are two different box/cart variants on these. All the copies I've ever seen, which have come from Canada, have both the English & French titles on them, both Boxed Sea Monsters that were up recently, plus all the loose carts I have spied over the past year or two. But Rom Hunter show off Phantom Tank & Sea Monster, both of which were in English only. Where did these come from? DOes Rom Hunter even know where they come from? Rom Hunter #9 Posted November 18, 2005 (edited) This one is NTSC (according to Rudolphy): So maybe the others are NTSC too? But then again: what are NTSC Puzzy cartridges doing on a PAL only site? BTW: Goliath released some PAL Puzzy games too: Phantom Tank (Goliath) Sea Monster (Goliath) And I don't think they did NTSC -> PAL conversions. My guess is that these English Puzzy games are PAL. Maybe Jens from GameReset knows more. Edited November 18, 2005 by Rom Hunter
Spirantho #10 Posted November 19, 2005 I think from memory the GameReset website lists Bit Corp and Puzzy as the same company - which they are. But at the same time, I think they used the Puzzy name for NTSC (Canadian?) releases, and the Bit Corp name for PAL. I shan't believe in PAL Puzzy games until I've seen solid evidence. Blackjack #12 Posted November 24, 2005 I've got an ntsc Puzzy Sea Monster. Nabbed it in a big lot auction from Canada.
