Sega's Choplifter - Grrr

Is this game just absof*inglutely insanely hard or is it just me?

 

Choplifter is one of my favorite all time games, but the arcade game... I mean you cross over that camp fence and you get about 10 feet before about fifty things shoot you down.

go slow & low with lots of backing up then forward. Once you get bored with that try flying backwards & start with the last group of men to rescue first then work your way back to base.

..i remember that sweet coin op!...yep, hard as hell, but tons of levels...so much better than the computer version!

Man, I've been trying every tactic. This game is just a cast iron bitch

 

It's too bad the 7800 version sucks.

I could only get to level 4 in the arcade in which you flew over a city at night being attacked by guys wearing jet packs. Anyone know if there was another level after that?

same here, the level with the jetpacks is as far as I go. The level with the ships & submarines was right before the space jetpack ones correct ? or was that the cave ?

There is a trick in the Sega Master System version where in the 3rd stage (the cavern stage) you would fly your heli in reverse in order to avoid enemy fire. I don't know if the same would apply to the arcade version.
