Cassidy Nolen #1 Posted November 28, 2005 All right, I got a suitcase full of boxed games from my in-laws this past week. Needless to say I am very happy about this. I even got a few I did not [email protected]!!! One was odd though. They are from the Northern part of the US (near Canada) and one of the games was a 78 box Fun With Numbers. When I opened it, there is a Basic Math 61 cart inside. The manual is also a 77 Basic Math manual but the front half is english and the back half is French with indicators of distribution in Canada by.....whatever. My question is this: Is there a chance Atari released this 77 cart in a 78 box with a 77 manual? I have no way to prove these two came together originally but I do find it odd why they would be put together. They were from the same person (original owner I assume). What do you think? There is nothing unique about the Fun with Numbers box, just a standard US looking release (no canadian distribution labels). Cassidy
CincYnoTi #2 Posted November 28, 2005 I think the odds are good this is the way it was originally sold. The first Fun With Numbers box I found also contained a Basic Math cart & docs.
Spirantho #3 Posted November 29, 2005 I think the odds are good this is the way it was originally sold. The first Fun With Numbers box I found also contained a Basic Math cart & docs. I have a Basic Math cart with the text number ("61 Basic Math") on the end label, but the main label is clearly a normal "Basic Math" as the text "Game Program" is in the normal, narrower setting. To make matters even more complicated, it's PAL, and there shouldn't be any PAL Text numbers out there (Even the PAL Heavy 6ers that have appeared of late don't have Text #s with them AFAIK). Looks to me like Atari printed a few too many 61 Basic Math labels...
