skem #1 Posted November 29, 2005 I am a recent collector of coin ops...actually I am the proud owner of 3 now...I have Ms. Pac-Man, X-men and a video poker machine....I have the opportunity right now to get a game called "Pirahna". I spoke to the guy and he said it is just like pac man you go around eating things in a maze. He wants $70 for it, think it's a good deal?? Still can't be as good of a deal as Ms. Pac-Man was, I won it during texas hold em at a friends house.
Cassidy Nolen #2 Posted November 30, 2005 That might turn out to be a Pac Man/Ms. Pac board. You never know....might even be in the correct cabinet. I would go look at it for sure if it was me. You can tell what a Pac board looks like by looking on the web (in case your's in a bootleg) and go from there on what you think value is. A ROM swap would bring that back to a real Pac Man if its a dedicated board with a ROM swap. The nutty stuff they would try and do with boards back in the day... JimmydelaKopin #3 Posted November 30, 2005 I remember the game. It's even listed at klov.com and vgmuseum.com. It's a boot' of Pac-Man, but with some significant changes (and not just through changing into a nautical theme). No, there's a y-axis tunnel as well as an x-axis tunnel, and there is no maze, just some "islands" that provide minor obstacles. It's like a "free-range" Pac-Man. Fun game on its own. If it works, and you have a chance to get it, go for it.
Uber Troll #4 Posted November 30, 2005 For the price, it would hard for me to say no. I didn't really like it as a kid though, playing it mostly on crap, bootleg hardware.

The board itself is very similar to a Rockola eyes board which is just a redesign of the pacman board. It has the falcon pinout which a lot of boards use, but with no fire button you will be limited to what games you can play. I've made a list of Falcon games at http://www.widel.com
yuppicide #6 Posted December 5, 2005 (edited) I'd go for it. Rip out the board and sell it on eBay and buy this: http://home.everestkc.net/mdoyle/multipac.htm It's got Piranha on it and 95 others. If you count all the variations it's 500 in 1. Oh man it's got Pengo! I think it has Brush Roller or whatever. It's also got one with random mazes. Damn, you're making me want this for Christmas. My Mom is gonna spend up to $200 or $250. Edited December 5, 2005 by yuppicide

Mike's webpage is a little out of date. To run the 96in1 on a piranha board you will need a new 4a color prom and the normal kit but with the graphics rom encrypted. Piranha is encrypted so any roms put on that board have to be encrypted to match. Edited December 6, 2005 by Dav
yuppicide #8 Posted December 6, 2005 (edited) Is there a different website I should be looking at them if his is outdated?! The only reason I said Crush Roller might be included is because there's another board out there with it on it and I like that game. The other board is a 24 in 1 and as a lot of people know I like multicarts so I listed larger one here. Here's the smaller one: http://www.lizardlickamusements.com/pages/multi_pac.shtml I notice they also sell a 39 in 1 for $395 with: 1942 Arkanoid Burgertime Centipede (joystick) Crush Roller Dig Dug Donkey Kong Donkey Kong Jr. Donkey Kong 3 Frogger Galaga Galaga 3 Galaxian Gyruss Hustler Jr. Pac Man Juno First Ladybug Mappy Millipede (joystick) Moon Cresta Mr. Do Mr Do's Castle Ms. Pac Man New Rally X Pac Man Pengo Phoenix Pinball Action Qix Scramble Space Invaders Space Panic Super Breakout Super Cobra Super Pac Man Tank Battalion Time Pilot Xevious I'd almost be interested in that as well. Man I wish I had space to get small home arcade. I'd love to have all the Mr. Do! games side by side. I'd go for it. That first one is a version of clay's 24 in 1 multipac. The second one is mame on a board. There's also a step up for the 96in1 called the mad pac. It includes everything in the 96in1 plus make trax which is the version of crush roller by Williams plus my favorite beastie feastie. There is some other stuff too, like some original games I wrote and some games like naughty mouse and jumpshot.
yuppicide #10 Posted December 7, 2005 Hey hey now.. you can't just say "mad pac" and not link me lol. I'm interested. I saw a 400 in 1 GameBox.. looks interesting: http://www.gamebox.cc/

I saw a 400 in 1 GameBox.. looks interesting: http://www.gamebox.cc/ 977797[/snapback] There's no real links I'm not pushing it, I'm sick of pacman. But if you look in mike's directory for pics that start with mad you'll see some pics. It's a much larger pcb so it takes longer for him to build them so he's not pushing them either. http://www.members.aol.com/kilkeeslps/ What I'm working on now is finishing up the multi exidy and get it out the door. I don't want to look at another pac for a long time. http://www.widel.com/ That link didn't come up for me, but all the really big multi's are just mame on a pcb, it's cheaper to do your own. tillenterprises #12 Posted December 12, 2005 I have the 96 in 1 from Mike Doyle installed in my Pac-man and I love it- the only complaint (and it's minor) is that since Pac-man Plus used custom color proms for the green/teal colored mazes, and to use the 96 in 1 kit, you need to revert to the original Pac-Man/Ms. Pac proms, Pac-man Plus has to be played with a Pac-Man style blue maze. Does anybody know if the other multi-pac kit have this issue, or can you play Pac-man Plus with a green maze... and is "Pengoman" the same as Pengo? BTW, I never cared for Pirahna, but having Mr. TNT and Eyes on the 96 in 1 kit, not to mention Pengo, all the Pac maze hacks, and a great Space Invaders clone, Alien Armada makes the 96 in 1 worth it! Thanks for the compliment on alien armada, that's 100% original code and not bad for only having 6 sprites to work with The blue mazes was a cost issue, adding 2 color proms to the kit would have bumped the cost up $30 or so and we felt very few would want it. I have done a custom kit for people with the extra color proms if they were willing to pay for my time. You might be interested in the mad pac, it's a new kit that adds color proms so that the pac plus problem is solved and I added make trax, beastie feasie, jumpshot, atlantic city action and a few other games that needed color proms too. It took me 2 years to get Pengo to run on a Pacman board without hardware tricks, that's one of the things I'm proudest of about this project.
