JB #26 Posted December 2, 2005 Would like to add Super Ghouls'n'Ghosts to the list. Some of these are not so well known or exactly triple A, but still great titles to check out (depending on taste): ... Gradius III That remiinds me... RType 3. A couple of years ago I scoured the net looking for game rankings of older consoles, then I compiled them to come up with a list. Here's the top of the SNES list (in order): ... Terranigma I feel obliged to point out that as far as english releases goes, this one was european only, and has referesh-rate checking(meaning it checks to make sure the system is outputting 50Hz) to defeat region chip bypasses. keilbaca #27 Posted December 2, 2005 Killer Instinct Top Gear Mario Kart Chrono Trigger Gradius 3 Hyper Zone These are my most played games on the SNES.
figgler #28 Posted December 2, 2005 While the Genesis/SNES battle DID end in a draw, Says who? All accounts I've ever seen indicate that more SNESs were sold than Gennys when it was all said and done

The numbers come out something like 45% and 55% market share between the two. A 5% diffrence isn't exactly what I'd call a major victory.
Joe C. #30 Posted December 2, 2005 Best Game would have to be Super Mario Kart. Bust A Move is another favorite. Street Fighter, Tetris, Dr. Mario and Clue are up there as well. Enjoy :!:
Zonie #31 Posted December 3, 2005 Uhhh... In my opinion... None of them.
REv9k #32 Posted December 3, 2005 Out Of This World is by far my favorite. A completely different experience from any other game you've ever played. Next, I'd say the Super Star Wars games. They were extremely popular too! Lastly, man, I just loved Clay Fighter.
Dones #33 Posted December 3, 2005 Next, I'd say the Super Star Wars games. They were extremely popular too! And extremely difficult! But never heard anyone complain at the time.

+kisrael #36 Posted December 4, 2005 From my Best-Of Lists Tetris Attack The best head to head "puzzle" game I've ever played. Lots of games let you send garbage blocks over on the other player, but few make those garbage blocks the key to turning the tables and getting sweet, sweet revenge. Nintendo not bringing its GameCue Puzzle Collection (including a 4-player version of this game) to the USA is a misdemeanor against humanity. Donkey Kong Country People who dismiss this game as shallow eye candy probably haven't had the plasure of walking a newbie gamer through all its well-designed levels and boss fights. Super Metroid One of the pinnacles of 2D gaming, a great feeling of exploring an alien world. MicroMachines Fun 4 player 2D racing with amusing board design, taking toy cars around real world environments. StarFox Stunning (for the time) polygon graphics and solid rail gameplay, but I think hampered by the crosspad. Super Mario Kart I want to like this game more than I actually do...like StarFox, I really played more of the N64 version first and like it better, but I have to give this game its props. Super Punch-Out Great big wonderful cartoony graphics...a worthy followup to everyone trying to beat up Mike Tyson on the NES. Smash TV Excellent port of Robotron's spiritual descendent Rampart A decent head to head game, with elements of Tetris and those Artillery Duel games...lacking of the arcade's 3 player support hurts it. Super Mario All-Stars Sure it's just prettier versions of NES games, but those are some great games..."2" is the only non-Gameboy 2D Mario I've ever beaten. Honorable Mentions: F-Zero / Super Mario World / Pilotwings
Alexius Wronka #37 Posted December 4, 2005 I'd say either super bomberman 5 or Yoshi's island
Atariboy #38 Posted December 4, 2005 (edited) I second Top Gear (Top Racer I think if you're outside the US). EA's Strike series is also good, especially Jungle Strike. I also love The Lion King, but that's mostly just because I love everything about the first level so much, rest of the game doesn't live up to my expectations. But it's one I find myself coming back to often. Edited December 4, 2005 by Atariboy
J.Max #39 Posted December 4, 2005 Chrono Trigger Final Fantasy 2 and 3 (or 4 and 6, however you look at them) Super Mario All Stars + Super Mario World Super Mario Kart Super Metroid Zelda: A Link To The Past Kirby's Dream Land 3 Kirby's Dream Course Donkey Kong Countrys 1, 2, 3 Yoshi's Island (Talk about a tough game!) Earthbound Uniracers Contra III Castlevania IV Secret of Mana Illusion of Gaia Tetris Attack Bust-A-Move Any of the Mega Man X games A few not so well-known titles, too: Adventures of Batman and Robin (Konami) Space Megaforce (Excellent shooter) Cybernator Metal Warriors Wild Guns Cotton 100% (Japanese only) R-Type III Phalanx Tiny Toon Adventures Magic Sword Nosferatu (Like Prince of Persia with vampires)

Zonie #43 Posted December 5, 2005 (edited) Uhhh... In my opinion... None of them. 975633 BITE YOUR TOUNGE!!!!!! 975677 Sorry, I really tried to like the thing. I have a minty one that came with my wife. I even bought some games. I was really disappointed in Dragons lair. I totally expected a game more like the arcade, not in graphics, but gameplay. I think the NES has better games, and I'm not really a NES fan either. As for trading the SNES, Nobody wants it and I would rather keep it than sell it for $10.
