Dones #1 Posted December 2, 2005 What music do you use as background for your front end menus? Just wondering what's the opinion of the resident arcade cabinet/embox owners here at atariage. Personally I try to use music that is arcade, game or 80's related. For example: Pac Man Fever, the TRON theme, a mario medley. Overclocked remix and Retro Arcade Radio have proven to be great sources to find just the right stuff. I even recorded menu music from some personal game favorites. Some sega cd games have also been nice (eg, Sonic CD). Anyway what works for you?
+remowilliams #2 Posted December 3, 2005 None, I can't stand music from my MAME cab. I just use MAMEWah and have it set to randomly run games by itself. That way I get the beautiful"music" that originally filled those dark and seedy places from years ago
Dones #3 Posted December 3, 2005 So no music during menus. Sounds fine to me. Yeah I like having a game screensaver too. It gives me a chance to check out games I wouldn't normally play. In my case I have my FE setup to rotate games every 3 minutes. Usually I leave it so it randomly chooses from all my games, but lately I just configure it to rotate games of a certain console or genre.
