Its very bad, this was a great site, with many great infos.

 

And if Tepest site is done, he has only Atari Prototypes. So this was a great site for other classic Prototypes too.

Anyway, yes, System Failure is currently down - my host got a DMCA threat about something that was on my site, and since his linux box was hosted on a university network, and the letter went directly to the university, the computer was pulled from the network permanently.

 

I'm hoping to find some new hosting soon, but before anything goes back up, we're trying to find out what item or items caused the letter and remove them from the site.

 

For now tho... System Failure is suffering from a serious case of system failure...

A DMCA threat? About what? Was it because you had the roms for download? I hope I'm not going to run into that problem. I'm sure you'll find someone to host you in no time.

 

BTW my site isn't only about prototypes from Atari, it's about prototype for all Atari Systems. So don't worry, there are plenty of proto reviews to go around (127 unique titles at last count, and that's just for the 2600 section!)

The paperwork is still in the hands of my host's university - i still don't know what was the reason, but one (or more) of the ROMs is most likely the reason.

 

As soon as he finds out tho, I'll make the necessary edits and get the site back up. Hopefully.

Ugh, I'm sorry to hear about the DMCA bringing your site down. I'm getting sick of hearing about all the crap that stupid law has caused and I wish it would get stricken down. Hopefully it's just something minor that you can pull off the site and bring it back online.

I hope the site comes back, it was cool.Every time I see a thread about these old protos and copyrights, I just have to laugh--how can people get bent out of shape over 20+ year old 4K games?
