8th lutz #1 Posted December 3, 2005 (edited) Most people have a bad game they like. My gulity please is Pit-fighter. I liked the arcade game. I own the genesis version and the Gamecube version in Madway Arcade classics 2. I was quite disappointed that pitfighter 2 didn't come out. I saw it in gameinformer. It had a picture of the game in action. It was based on the orginal. Edited December 3, 2005 by 8th lutz
Famicoman #2 Posted December 4, 2005 What do you mean by bad?
bergbros2 #3 Posted December 4, 2005 A guilty pleasure is a game that you like to play even though it has been almost universally panned. With that, I still like to play Slave Zero on my Dreamcast. Now mind you, the game gets all repetitive and its flawed (You really don't need to throw girders at the enemy), but things blow up real good and the firepower is pretty satisfying. And I don't hesitate to say I liked to play E.T. on the 2600. I know, the infamous pits, but it can get to be a satisfying if albeit a bit frustrating puzzler. There will be some others who vote on their guilty pleasures. I know that some other DC fanboy likes to play Wild Metal, even though most find it dreck and I think there is someone with a certain avatar who likes to Play Beat Em and Eat Em. Just don't sit on his furniture.
+remowilliams #4 Posted December 4, 2005 Hmm. I suppose the closest thing recently would be Gheist for the GC. It got bad to mediocre reviews. And I had a blast playing it. So take that critics!
jeepnut24 #5 Posted December 4, 2005 Halo 2 by far. I actually think the game isn't really all that groundbreaking or special in terms of new ideas etc... But man I can't get enough of it online. Classic wise... GB Tetris Asteroids Umm way to many others to list.
J.Max #6 Posted December 4, 2005 Heavy Barrel - Arcade/NES (There's just something cool about assembling that HUGE gun...) -Any and all Pro Wrestling games.

It's the reason that my MAME cab got rotary sticks. Well that and Time Soldiers.
shadow460 #8 Posted December 5, 2005 Hmmm, a game I play a lot that most people think sucks... I dunno. Enemy Zero didn't get an A plus review, but I played the crap out of it.
silverpoodleman #9 Posted December 5, 2005 I know most people think it stinks, but I had Miniature Golf on the 2600 as a kid and was obsessed with getting a perfect score (a 9 meaning a hole in one on every hole). I never did though I think I got an 11 a few times. I have to admit that I still play it. "Hi. My name is Marc and.......well........I play Miniature Golf.....on the ......you know, the.........DAMN IT! - the 2600!!! There! I SAID IT!"

Spoon #12 Posted December 5, 2005 Beyond The Beyond - PSX - Generally frowned upon by RPG geeks, it's a turn-based button-masher...a downright terrible idea. Other than that, this is a pretty involved, not to mention difficult toward the end, game. Iron & Blood - PSX - A Dungeons & Dragons fighter. Everybody I've talked to that owns this absolutely hates it. For it's time, the ability to gain levels and equipment was pretty rad. It's no Dead Or Alive, but I've certainly played many worse fighters that this. Kyle Petty's No Fear Racing - SNES - For whatever reason people hate this game. I pulled an all-nighter the first time I played it, and didn't put the controller down except for quick bathroom breaks until I beat it. The Punisher - Genesis - I live for 2D beat 'em up's, and The Punisher in the arcade was pretty impressive. Translated terribly onto Genesis, but I still love playing it. Platoon - NES - Possibly more nostalic value than anything, I can totally understand why people wouldn't like this game. Ultima: Exodus - NES - I used to be an Ultima nut. Was psyched to hear they were porting Exodus onto a console. Didn't live up to the computer version, but for what it was it certainly wasn't very bad. Baal - Amiga - I think people just don't like this based on it's difficulty. Once you get the swing of things, it's a mighty rockin' game. The Pawn - Amiga - With the excetion of the first Zork, I've never played a text-based game more that this. Which head would you like to touch? The hairy head or the bald head? Bard's Tale III - C64 - I could care less if the first two were better. I put Brilhasti ap-Tarj on my corn flakes, baby. My personal favorite of the series which tends to draw some confused glances among the older-school BT purists. Baby Pac-Man - arcade - This game was always available in the arcades. Even when it was new. I couldn't understand why people avoided it like the plague. A combination of Pac-Man with pinball? I wish more games combined the two! nester #13 Posted December 6, 2005 Definately Bad Street Brawler for NES. Anytime I'm feeling down I play that game to cheer myself up.
n8littlefield #14 Posted December 6, 2005 My guilty pleasures would have to be Milon's Secret Castle on the NES, and ET on the 2600. Yes, I actually enjoy ET, it's fun and you actually can win and get a real ending with is rare on the 2600. One of my biggest guilty pleasures lies on current gen systems, Pitfall for the PS2. I absolutely love Pitfall. It's everything that most new games aren't - it has colorful bright environments, a fun control scheme, and some fairly funny moments. It got pretty beat up by reviewers, but I love the stupid game.
dalton4life #15 Posted December 7, 2005 Hard Driving for the Lynx. I remember thinking of it like a driving similator getting me reading for my road test when it was in the arcades. Other games I like a lot that may or may not be guilty pleasures are: 5200 - Kaboom NES - Marble Madness Gameboy - Any Castlevania game Genesis - Altered Beast SNES - Looney Toons B-Ball PS1 - Devil Dice SMS - Space Harrier Dreamcast - Virtua Tennis PS2 - Ready 2 Rumble Round 2 last but that least the Virtual Boy and all it's games except Waterword. I'm color blind and I love it!
atari_wizard #16 Posted December 7, 2005 Atari 2600 - Amidar (my friends would always dog this game, yet i thought and still think it rocks!) NES - Porter (Caltron 6 in 1) many people claim the cartridge to be merely a rare cartridge that should never be played. this game is so much fun and i recommend trying it out when you get a chance. NES - both Flintstone games. i think part 1 is much more difficult, but the game keeps you coming back for more.
TheHoboInYourRoom #17 Posted December 7, 2005 I quite like playing Star Ship on the 2600. I just think it's so fun!
