I love this guy's auctions!

Someone mentioned before, that he likes to reuse auction pics from the carts he buys on ebay & list items before he has the games in hand. I think that's another shady practice that he's into. The paypal fees piss me off. As a seller I eat them, so as a buyer I hate to pay them. That's usually more than enough reason for me to never to buy from someone again, if they're sticking me with their paypal fees.

That alone is enough to make me wish, once again, that there was such a thing as a "blocked seller list." The web "design" (which seems to be the throwing-paint-at-the-canvas approach to "art") would just further convince me that the seller's picnic is short a few sandwiches. I never charge any of the fees I'm burdened with when I sell -- that's part of the whole selling process that one has to accept when listing in the first place so you either build it into the start bid/reserve or kick yourself in the arse when you list it for $0.01 and it sells for $0.47.

I had one seller who tried to saddle me with his fees after the fact -- no mention made in the listing nor was it built into the shipping and handling fees. I was obliged to point him in the direction of PayPal's EULA.

But to his credit, at least his web design skills didn't suck. They were unremarkable to be sure, but they weren't an affront to the senses.

I second that! I know there is a way to filter out certain sellers while you are searching, but to listing them each time you search sucks and you are limited only to ten. No way eBay would ever give a blocked sellers option I think. Showing less listings = less money in there eyes. So where's the love for providing a better service? I only use eBay because I have too. It's the only way I can find the older games I want cheaply, but after going through so many bad sellers I start to question it.

You can save a search though, so if there are only a few you know of you don't want to see, you can enter them & save it. Then just pull it up by myebay/all favorites/searches.

I usually don't filter out anyone, but sometimes I will remove the larger e-stores like electric quarter.

Unfortunately there is more than a few! :P In the end I really just stick with my good sellers list. Finding a good seller is like finding gold. I'd rather throw a few extra bucks to a seller who I trust and support than someone who's trying to milk you for all it's worth.

I do that too. When I find a seller I like I'll go back and check their auctions repeatedly to see if they've got something I'm interested, just because I know that if they do I know I'll get a good, honest deal, which is so much easier than wading through oceans of overpriced shipping and handling fees, bad feedback, scams, misrepresented items, and a billion "*RARE* LQQK!!!" listings for common items that completely invalidate the meaning of the word "RARE" for the rest of his auctions -- even for the ones that really are rare.

Yep, I did list some people in the clean list of recommended traders. Out of that though I could count on one hand the people I buy over and over from. The one (and only) seller off eBay I even buy blindly from is Atariaction. I absolutely trust Mike's grading system, and I'm very fusy about labels. His shipping also is damn cheap for Canadians, which makes up for the high prices of his common carts. I figure it's a win-win situation. He doesn't have to pay to use a photo, and I pay a little extra for the common cart, but I know it's going to be mint if he says it is. The shipping is low and I'm happy in the end that I bought from him. the best thing is that my first transaction with him started to go bad. A month went by and I hadn't received my carts. This was within Canada shipping too! Finally they did come, and when I looked at the parcel I realized that he had indeed shipped them the day after I paid so that the fault lay with Canada Post. Now I buy from him all the time, because I know he's honest. Just goes to show how opinons can change for the better. :)

His prices are high anyhow so adding 3% for Paypal seems unjust given that.

Yeah his prices are kinda high (especially with the fees). I just sold my Waterworld on ebay and thought I did pretty well. I think I only paid 70 for it. And it was in mint condition. :)

I think you did all right too. :) With a mint label though I don't think I could sell it. I'll never really understand why Waterworld sells for so much anyhow. I see at least one a week on eBay.
