Scott Stilphen #3 Posted May 7, 2002 My mistake (it's been awhile since I did it ). The chip is a 7432, and I'm sure there's an ECG equivalent for it. For info on the mod, here's Bob Colbert's page on it.
smf_4ever #4 Posted May 8, 2002 Has anyone recently tried the supercharger modification? the reason I ask is that the chip that was/is listed (from radio shack) does not exist any longer.. and I cannot find a replacement part for that. Do any of the psychotic techie atari fans know the scoop on this one?? or are we in not only Cuttle Cart limbo.. but modified Super Charger limbo as well?? Thanks
smf_4ever #5 Posted May 8, 2002 DOH!!!! yea.. I have not found the equivilate chip for it. I e-mailed Bob, but he seems like a busy guy.. So i was hopeing someone else has run into this problem and come up with a solution.
GrizzLee #6 Posted May 8, 2002 Yes, Radio Shack discontinued that part over a year or so ago. But you can still get them easily enouugh. Take the info off of Bob's Page to any GOOD electonics store in your area and ask a knowledgable employee. Any good store will have the 7432's fairly cheap or can order them. If you are having problems, email me in private, I think I can still get them locally. The SC mod is easy. I have literally done about 20 of them for folks. My hats off to Bob Colbert for providng this info to us. Good luck, -Lee [email protected]
Thelen #7 Posted May 8, 2002 if you can get a 7404(6 x inverter) and a 7402 (4 x nor) you can do this. the 7432 is a OR ic , the 7402 is a NOR ic, that the iverted or, so with a inverter you can make the NOR an OR.... thelen
jsoper #8 Posted May 8, 2002 But if you tie the two inputs of a NOR together it becomes an inverter, so you can just use two NOR gates on one NOR chip.
oesii #9 Posted May 9, 2002 http://www.futurlec.com/IC7432.html Is this the same part that the original diagram calls for? Looks like a reputable online source and they're only $0.35 each.
