yuppietrash #1 Posted December 5, 2005 i just purchased a "working" pit fighter jamma board with the sound board. i took the tecmo knight jamma board out of my arcade cabinet and plugged in the pit fighter board. i get no sound at all, and the only thing that comes on the screen is a turquoise and green colored screen with a bunch of "494949499949494" numbers over and over again.. this is my fisrt jamma swap. am i doing something wrong? ive had the machine off when i replace the cards. ive noticed that there are some pins on the other side of the board that arent plugged into anything. ive got the board plugged in to just the main jamma connection on my machine, and i cant see anything else to plug in. can someone plz give me some advice? im dying to play pit fighter, i used to love that game. thanx
maibock #2 Posted December 5, 2005 I'm not too familiar with either game with jamma support, but I know with the games I do have, you need to make sure the boards are in tight and proper or they don't play at all or with wacky graphics..
Cassidy Nolen #3 Posted December 5, 2005 On a flat surface, try pushing down on all of the chips one at a time (the socketed ones of course...not the soldered down ones!). I looked at a pic on klov.com and I am guessing those extra connectors are for more buttons your cabinet does not have. Although the main pinout is JAMMA, the JAMMA plus boards need more buttons, thus explaining what originally hooked in there. You could of course add more buttons to your control panel (depending on your abilities to make them fit and the spacing between what is already there) or you may be relisting a semi-working board on ebay Cassidy
yuppietrash #4 Posted December 6, 2005 well, ive tried pressing down on all the ICs, and i even cleaned the JAMMA contacts with contact cleaner, but it is still doing the same thing. anyone else have any ideas? this is driving me nuts...
yuppietrash #5 Posted December 6, 2005 just called the local arcade repair shop. they want 65$ an hour to check out my board, and cant give me any idea as to how long ti might take them. i love pit fighter, but hate the thought of ot taking the guy 6 hours to fix it. +remowilliams #6 Posted December 7, 2005 That sucks According to my manual here - they suggest checking the processor at 10H and the program ROMS at 5D and 5B. But those turquoise and green colors may also be indicating that you have bad playfield and motion object RAM. If you can't get it working and still want a boardset, PM me and let me know - I have a good boardset for sale.

Some games need -5v. Not sure if pitfighter needs -5 I think pitfigther is a bit picky on its voltages. So make sure you have a good +5v. If you have another jamma cabinet try it in that. Maybe another collector can test your board. Hopefully someone is local to you. Pitfighter is not a hard pcb to find, so you should be able to find another boardset for around $25 or less. yuppietrash #8 Posted December 18, 2005 well, i took it to a repair shop here in town, who said they didnt think it could be fixed...thankfully, they didnt charge me for this diagnosis. there is another place here in town who will trade me a working board for 65 + my old board.. i guess i just need to chalk this up as a lesson not to buy boards on ebay. Cassidy Nolen #9 Posted December 19, 2005 Did you solve your button problem yet? (ie, do you have enough buttons to play the game?) Cassidy
