You need to talk to Copper (I believe) to invite your friends in. I think they need your friends code and you have to give Copper some info about your friends (like their friend code). I don't think you can change your character's name. Once it's set, it's set. Not sure about the "Mat" thing yet. Haven't done one of those yet. Oh, to elaborate further..only those that have your friend code (and vise versa) can get into your town, from my understanding. Lots here have posted their friend codes. And the nearest McDonald's to me is about 30 miles away..grrrr!! I found two "hotspots" in the town I work in that are unsponsered, but potential for connecting. The only thing I dont like about visiting other towns is the game has a nasty habit of losing your progress if people disconnect without leaving properly. FYI - I have figured out that if anyone wants to visit my town, it will have to be when I'm at a hotspot location. Went to McDonalds tonight, and shep was able to visit Boone, which was very cool. I think he must have bought something, because my town's Nookway is closed for the final remodel. w00t! I'll be hitting my local McDonalds a couple of times next week so that some of you can visit my town if you like. I'll post here the day before I go, that way everyone will be aware of when the town will be open. I caught some flies in my town recently - donated one to the museum (of course!) and tried selling the others to Nook. Not worth it to do that, he only pays 60 bells for each. It's La-Di-Da Day in Boone today, haven't changed the tune yet, though I paid off the 2nd expansion the other day, now I have a second floor which is a music room! In addition - I'll be opening up my town for visitors sometime in the next few days. On vacation in Michigan right now, but planning to head over to a nearby WiFi enabled McDonalds for some AC fun.
