What was gamefaqs thinking for top 10 rarest rpgs?

The Gamefaqs top ten is called the best top 10 rarest rpgs. That top 10 last should've been called top 10 best rarest games.

Their list is ridiculus.

10.)Cubivore (game cube)

9.) Steel Buttatlion(xbox)

8.)Rapasody: a musical Adventure (playstation one)

7.)Suikoden 2 (playstation one)

6.)Radiant Silvergun Saturn)

5.)valkrie profile (playstation one)

4.)Rez (Ps2)

3.)Shining force 3 (saturn)

2.)Akumaajo Dracula x: Chi no Rondo(TCD)

1.)Panzer dragoon saga(saturn)

 

I think the person who made the list was stoned or smoking some strong stuff. How does about 4 or 5 non rpgs got on that list? I don't think some the top 10 would make on best rarest games. There had been previous gamefaqs top list that were bad or questionable. This one is the worst so far. There are a total 56 top ten lists now. Your thoughts?

So, since this list sucks, how about figuring out our own top 10 rarest RPGs?

 

First off, let's get the rare separated from the common but hoarded games.

 

For example, Xenogears is common as dirt, and even got a Greatest Hits release, but many people think it's rare.

 

Anyway, here are a few I'd nominate for rarity:

 

Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals (SNES)

Persona (PS1)

Brigandine (PS1)

Lunar 2: Eternal Blue (Sega CD) * I'm not too sure on this one. But it seems marginally hard to find, so I'll toss it in there.

Xenogears was rare when it was released and a year after, it wasn't until the game got popular that it was mass produced.

I think i had a too high of an expection for the lists on gamefaqs. I know a gamefaqs forum member is not too smart. I didn't register there for that reasonand the trolls. That site has too many boards. At least its not as bad as 2 years ago. That site could've been called drug faqs in that timeframe. In that time frame the mods didn't shut Pot Fun and pipemania in the commodore 64 game message board section. The 2 message boards had stoners like stonemonkey 3:16 talking or braging about going stuff against the law,and getting high,and other illegal stuff with major complains about it.

I actually bought Rez for about $20 a few years back. True, I had to use $10 in trade-in credit at Gamestop, and I had to drive 70 miles both ways, in the sleet, snow and mud, up a steep grade (okay, I'm kidding... only the 70 miles part was true... ), but I got it cheap.

I'd say the bell curve runs pretty wide at GameFAQs, but I haven't found a better source for game-specific forums...for any popular and/or recent game, usually you get a little something going, which is more than I can say for most other boards.

That list consists of rpgs from U.S..TG -16 games-not sure about. More top tens rare rpg lists are fine.

Oh yeah, like THAT'll help. Now it'll be even more wrong. Because nobody there is old enough to remember that there was anything before the Playstation, much less the NES. I'm just surprised they didn't stick Chrono Trigger on that list.

 

Anyhow, I've got like four copies of Phantasy Star I, so there. And I'm pretty sure I've got two copies of Lunar 2 Sega CD. My complete copy of Crusader of Centy for Genesis is probably rarer than either of those.

 

Of course, the rarest RPG would be the one that I'm working on and haven't released yet. Yeah, that's it, that's the ticket. Bidding starts at (pinky to lips) one million dollars...

I own Crusdar of Centy(loose). I didn't count crusdar of Centy due its being in a different genre.

I've only seen Persona a few times. Once was when I was with a friend and he bought it from the store, and the next time when I visited him and saw him playing it. Plus, I've heard a few comments that it's not exactly common.

 

As for Rhapsody, I saw two copies of that not too long ago. One was still in the original shrinkwrap. But it was a game which never appealled to me, so I passed it up because of how my credit cards are maxxed this holiday season.

Wow. I wonder if Serial Experiments: Lain counts as an rpg. I know most people don't even realize it was a game before it was an anime.

And it's never been released in the States.

Cubivore really isn't that rare, at least not rare enough for a top ten list.

Of that list, there are only four RPGs on it: Valkyrie Profile, Suikoden II, Panzer and Rhapsody. Radiant Silvergun and Rez are both shooters, Cubivore is a life sim, Steel Battalion and Dracula X are action games and Shining Force III is a strategy game. That is the worst list I've ever seen. Here's mine:

I don't care if the list blows cack. Anybody that puts Rez in a list is OK in my book. I burned it on a CD for my Dreamcast and I can't get enough of that techno rail shooter. I know, it has enough in common with RPGs like I have in common with Fransisco Franco. But the game is the Foshizzle.
