Advance Wars - New game starting 1/10/06

I thought about trying to nab the North HQ out from under you (even made a half-hearted attempt before pulling back).

 

Truthfully, I started getting nervous when you took my airport near my HQ, then I saw the Med Tanks rolling in and figured I better strike first.

 

Not sure what 128 wants to do. He's concentrated up north, but looks like he wants to invade the entire Western seaboard!

Well, it looks like I'm not long for this world...

 

 

I just didn't have the juice to complete my coup and now I'm getting it from both ends.

Yeah, I think we're both smoked.. There's just no stopping the massive green army from the north. I was hoping that you would've stayed up there and at least delayed him a bit, but now we're both in trouble.. good game..

Maibock, I convinced the Scots to rebel against the evil English who had just taken over their land. ;) Once I got the Highlanders to join my cause, they have decended in a mad fury! No fancy Neo-tanks (so far!) from the thrifty Eire-Scot Alliance! Now I'm working on the Welsh... ;)

I couldn't get you off my capital, maibock, so it looks like you'll be getting a big income boost, even if you are understaffed right now.

 

And let the record show that I was man enouth to take my capture without resigning and still swinging.

Not sure the cash boost will be enough to hold the marauding highlanders..

 

Army "A" - I need to hold that army long enough to amass troops

 

Army "B" - The amphibious assault must also be stopped..

 

My tanks are licking their wounds from the assault on Wales, generals are screaming for any type of support! :ponder:

You need to hire the A-Team to sneak into enemy terretory and assault the ill-protected home base.

 

They'll just have to swim the English Channel.

Quick questions on income and funds if anyone knows..

 

Why would I not be getting all the income per turn added to my funds?

 

Is there a super power which makes it less?

 

Does parking a tank on a city to regain health, take funds away?

 

This past turn I only had enough money to by anti-air, with my income being 24,000

 

Any ideas?

1) I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the fuel cost of having air units, as well as the supply cost of having your unit parked on a city, may be deducted from your funds. I know when I play AW on the GBA, later on in the battle I find a big drain on my funds from each move before I deploy anything.

 

2) I don't think there is a super power which makes it less. I'm playing as Andy, and my superpower is hyper repair, which adds 2 life units to each of my assets (ie an infantry unit at 2 becomes 4, and a 9 becomes a 10, and the 10 stays the same)

 

3) I think parking a tank may take funds away.

You are charged for rebuilding damaged units parked on cities/harbors/airports, not for fuel/ammo resupplied by transport vans. I think you are charged at the same rate you would purchase new units ie: 100 per infantry unit = 1,000 per 10 units

 

And things are looking rosy for 128.

Yeah, I'm in trouble - us fighting in the south took a serious toll on my forces.. Not sure how I can turn it around now..

lol I just noticed the battleships - nice.. I'm starting to feel like Japan in the ends of WWII :ponder:

The game's not clinched yet, IMHO, but feel free to resign whenever you think it's appropriate. It's certainly better than holding out for the bitter end, especially since the web interface makes the moves take longer than on the GBA.

 

Maibock, I'd be up for another game -- how about we start one on Monday? I'm happy with a 2 player or a 4 player.
