A2600 #1 Posted December 8, 2005 I stroll into goodwill today, and spotted some NES titles most of which I allready had!! Except for Lunar Pool which I really wanted, so I see the toaster NES for 4.99 and I know carts cost 2.99 so I put the lunar pool inside the NES and proceed to check out I paid for the NES and the cart was free!! yuppicide #3 Posted December 8, 2005 You beat me too it. I was going to say the same thing. Doesn't Goodwill benefit people in need or something charitable?! And you're proud of this why? Tempest 978416[/snapback]

J.Max #5 Posted December 8, 2005 So, you shoplifted from Goodwill? Nice one, very classy.
JB #6 Posted December 8, 2005 I'm confused... Didn't it cost MORE to buy the NES deck you hid the cart in than to buy the cart?
REv9k #7 Posted December 8, 2005 Ya, it seems like that's a pretty crappy thing to do to a NFP charitible organization.
shadow460 #8 Posted December 8, 2005 tsk, tsk, tsk. I've gotten free cordless phone parts by asking for them in a thrift shop. The phones are supposed to have batteries in them. Some don't. I know what to look for to figure out what battery it needs, then I go hunt through the other phones for one. Once I get done, I bring all the items to the register I'd like to purchase. Phone, power cord, battery, handset, etc. I then ask "How much for the power plug?" Fifty cents. OK. "This battery was in another phone. Can I buy it like this or do I need to buy the other phone?" That's usually when the cahsier tosses the battery in free. When I do something like that, I let them know everything I've got, and simply ask for things if necessary. If you're going to do something like that, at least open the NES up and let them know there's a cart in there. Also, give them the chance to ring it up. If they decide not to, only then is it OK to assume it was free. Still, though, if the items have their separate prices, go ahead and pay the total of those prices. Really, why don't you take the cart back, tell them what you did, and offer to pay for it (then you can take it home)?
superjudge3 #9 Posted December 8, 2005 You do know that the money you cheated them out of was going to people with special needs? You just denied $2.99 to someone that obviously needed it more than you do. I hope you're happy with your game...

holygrailvideogames.com #11 Posted December 8, 2005 If you were my son I would make you go back to Goodwill and apologize and pay them for the game. I suggest that you do that tomorrow. How low can you go. Stealing from a charity is horrible.
+remowilliams #12 Posted December 8, 2005 Wow. If you're serious with that, then congrats on the cheapest and worst thing I've ever read on AA.
keilbaca #13 Posted December 8, 2005 Wow, shoplifting from goodwill? What are you going to do to make it worse, throw it up on ebay and reap in the profits?
Smiley #14 Posted December 8, 2005 My local goodwill doesn't even carry games/consoles anymore...still, I wouldn't have done nothing like that...not saying I haven't in the past... one thing I do that isn't as bad is go to blockbuster, where they sometimes leave those pieces of papers in the ninty first party titles with the pin numbers in them, grab said pieves of paper and then register them at mynintendo to get free stuff...eventually
z28in82 #15 Posted December 8, 2005 Not to sound too much like everyone else, but that has got to be one of the most horrid things I have ever heard posted here. I seriously hope you didn't intend for anyone to actually applaude this "smooth move"? I guess all I can say is that I do feel sorry for you and your misguided sense of values. JimmydelaKopin #16 Posted December 8, 2005 A2600, I have to thank you. Really, people, I have to thank him. I consider myself a collector of sorts. Not concerning games; no, I'm more of a comics aficionado. One time a collector of old men's magazines was willing to part with three boxes of his collection for $170. He thought he was cheating me, since these were men's magazines before the days of open pornogrpahy; the raciest things in there were the cartoons. However, I knew that they were collector items since they contained examples of post-Code work of famed wrtiers and artists of preCode comics. But I didn't tell him that until after I got the boxes of magazines. The look of despair on his face when he realized what he sold...sometimes I felt guilty about it. But, looking at what this little hoodlum did makes me realize I really didn't do anything wrong. If a seller doesn't know what he's selling and I do simply because I know more about his product than he does, that's his problem. But to rig an item so as to trick the seller into not charging for something the buyer wants...that's downright despicable. And the fact that he did this to Goodwill...really, stealing from a charity of all things? Damn, my local Goodwill (where I got replacement 1EdAD&D hardcover manuals to replace ones that I lost real cheap once) still hasn't reopened--and when it does, it probably won't have anything of quality, as locals were dumping their moldy flooded clothes and nonworking electronics in front of the place as if it was a city dump. And this jerkwad has the nerve to brag about ripping off his local Goodwill? Some people just aren't grateful for anything... ...selfish turd... JagFan422 #18 Posted December 8, 2005 lol, too funny, i too have ripped off people to get games and gear i wanted. I hosed some old lady at a flea market by pushing the power button on a SNES on and trying to put in a cart. YOU CAN"T so i told her it was broke so i got the SNES with about 18 games for $
+uosipa llamxew #19 Posted December 8, 2005 I don't think anyone here can say that they haven't had a dishonest moment. What I find disturbing is someone who prides himself on his own dishonesty. Still, what goes around comes around. Karma is a bitch like that... you'll get yours one day.
finallywed0312 #20 Posted December 8, 2005 We have all had dishonest moment in out life but still this is low. BTW.. the Salvation Army should be infront of your local grocery store any day now. see if they will give you a donation if not feel free to take the bucket. Atariman #21 Posted December 8, 2005 Couldn't you just cut out the middle man and steal from a homeless person? Oh, that's right... they don't have the NES games you always wanted... sorry, but I have no respect for shoplifters...

Tempest #23 Posted December 8, 2005 I actually had something similar happen to me last week. I was buying a candle and a holder, so I put the candle in the holder to keep it safe while I shopped. When I got to the checkout they just rang up the holder, but I took out the candle and made sure they rang it up separately. I just couldn't cheat anyone like that, it goes against everything I believe in. Tempest
Lord Helmet #24 Posted December 8, 2005 Gonna chime in and say what everyone else is saying. Completely classless. I can't believe anyone would rip off a charity, even less so considering the holiday season is upon us. Even worse, this guy thinks it was cool. So cool in fact, that he posted it here, bragging about it. A2600, did you honestly think anyone would think what you did was right? What a loser. Rest assured I'll never look at one of his posts the same ever again. No class whatsoever.
