Ebay Atari near 7000 hits

I just find this interesting that Sat night on Ebay if you type in Atari you get 6662 found matches. This seems very high for Atari. Does anyone remember what it was hitting last Christmas? The good and the bad about it is prices are low! Good for buyer bad for seller

Last year in general there were a lot more Atari listings. It was pretty much over 5,000 year round. The listings will drop off real fast. The week before Christmas was dead last year.

Don't forget that eBay has always offered a special promotion on December 26th. It used to be a free listing day but recently it has been 10 cents per listing. This year I am thinking I am going to shut down. My last shipping day will be December 19th or 20th and I am thinking of closing down until January.

Last year at this time I was selling regular NES systems with 1 controller and Mario Bros for $80 to $100 USD no problem. I sold about 10 or 12 of them in 3 days for $1000 USD. This year I can't get anymore than $30 to $40 becuase the market is so flooded with famiclones and such. Oh well yast year was good

I just picked up a lot of 11 games, of 2600, 5200 and CV for .99! CV stuff was Destructor and Decathlon.

 

And a lot that Adam Topol marked as the Nicest 5200 on eBay or something, for $20!

 

Now if I can just get the other stuff I have sold, I'll be alright.

WOW whats going on with Ebay the Atari hits just jumped in the last few days up to over 15,000! Did the get rid of something? Last week the hits were around 5000

Maybe because of their new policy where they are adding storefront BIN's to the end of search listings.

I was thinking more along the lines of that crappy "atari" wear, such as t-shirts, wristbands and so forth.

There is something wrong with ebay's search engine. One time I put in atari 2600 and got 8000 results. Immediately after that i got around 2000. Every time I refreshed it gave a different result.

 

It seems to be working today though.
