20eyes #1 Posted December 11, 2005 I have a world rally championship arcade game and if I let play it for a while (about 20 min or so) the sound starts to go in and out at random. It will start out good but then itll get real quiet and then nothing at all then a few min. later it will come back for a short while. Also is there a way to adjust the sound at all? Any Idea what could be the problem? Or where to start? I'm kinda new with arcade games... Thanks!
Cassidy Nolen #2 Posted December 12, 2005 I would suggest hooking up a voltmeter to the 12V input and ground on the board and seeing what is happening there. A fluctuation on 12V could cause audio to come and go. Rig it up so the meter just sits there. Check it when the sounds starts acting up and see what is going in. If that is good, I would check the solder on the amp/related areas on the board. Get the schematics from klov.com so you have some idea on the board where to look. If you have a bad chip that gets really hot that could cause it too. When the sound is acting up, feel the chips on the board and see if one is warmer than the others by a good bit. HTH, at least its a start. C

20eyes #4 Posted December 14, 2005 I played with the volume switch and it seems to have corrected it, but I guess time will tell. I'll probobly spray it with electronics cleaner somtime and go from there.
