Well, I spoke too soon.

Went to get the REST ( there were 25 BOXES of games) and they had just "thrown" them away last week. I ended up with box 10 of the 25. I could just scream. I heard about this deal about three weeks ago and my sources only managed one of the boxes for me. I am so sad. Who knows what all would have been in there. This was a store that went out of business about 20 years ago and this was their inventory. I am sick over this.

At least I have what I got out of this first case.....loooks like I will have to edit the name of my post (should have been about 30 games to a box times the 25 boxes...)

Mother [email protected]!!!

Get a shovel Cassidy we're going to the dump. Seriously though what happened? Were they in a hurry to move or did you find out to late to stop them? I'm sorry this turned out so bad, but at least you got one case.

You know how these deals are...somebody says "I got all this Atari stuff and I want to move it..." blah, blah. As it was, this was an entire inventory. If I had any way of getting around the slow moving people in the group I would have. As it was, it was a coworker who had a friend who heard about it. Honestly I was lucky to get any of it.

It all ended up at a Senior center and they wanted rid of it. They said they could not find anyone who would take it so they got rid of it, even though there was a deal in the works.....that would have benefitted them substantially....

A very sad Cassidy

Well at least you were able to recover some of it. Who knows though maybe a sixth or seventh of all Atari stock was thrown out brand new at some time or other. There will be new stashes of new carts found each year, but gradually these too will diminish until almost all the stock left is what is already in collector’s hands. One day in the future there won't be any more granny's pulling out Atari carts. All the stock left will just be passed back and forth between collectors. The rest will be buried and lost forever. However I suspect there will still be homebrews coming out, and who knows perhaps the best game ever still hasn't even appeared yet. ;)
