+Omegamatrix #1 Posted December 12, 2005 (edited) I've always been curious if the NTSC rom for Atari BMX Airmaster is the exactly the same as the TNT BMX Airmaster release. Has anyone dumped the Atari version and compared it in Clonespy? Edited to include "NTSC". Edited December 14, 2005 by Omegamatrix

Atari bought the rights to the ROM from TNT in 1990 and rereleased it using their own red label. The Atari is way difficult to find (Rated 10 on the rarity chart on this site). +Omegamatrix #4 Posted December 14, 2005 Yes, I knew it was the same game but I'm wondering though if Atari did some very minor changes to the rom (i.e. like stick there name on the screen). CCE, Funvision, and Puzzy did that all the time among other companies. Since I don't own the Atari Red label myself I can't dump it and compare it in Clonespy. If you look at the rom's off the database the both say Bmx_tnt when unzipped. It looks like the TNT rom was put under both entries. Does anyone who owns both indeed know the answer? Are they 100% the same?
SteveW #5 Posted December 15, 2005 Awww, I hate when anyone brings up this title. Several times, I considered ordering it directly from Atari like I did with several titles back in the late '80s, but I never got around to it. If I remember right, the game was only $10 when a lot of others were $15-$20. I ordered lots of 2600, 7800, and Lynx stuff from Atari, but that's the one I really regret not getting while the getting was good.
