Nintendo Power's 200th issue

Anyone else get this yet? It's a really good anniversary type issue. Of particular note, a nice big comic-style poster and a sheet of stickers depicting classic NES and SNES sprites and system logos. They also finish off the top 200 games for Nintendo systems list that's been going for a few months. And, as a nice touch a number of developers have taken out full page ads sending congrats to the magazine.

Plus, you gotta check out that article about cosplay!

Hm, I hope I get it. I recently resubscribed to Nintendo Power after a year or two off, but haven't gotten my first issue yet. I haven't really been a regular reader, but every few years I resubscribe (usually to get a free bonus).

Yeah, I let my subscription run out because I was waiting for a Twilight Princess promotion (I dunno, maybe "Ocarina of Time: Mirror mode" this time? ) but then they pushed Twilight Princess back and I'm stuck hitting the newsstand every month.... haven't even finished last month's yet

I would assume so, though it seems I got mine early. However, it wouldn't suprise me much if the newstand edition was missing the stickers. Although there are only a few, it a really cool bonus IMO

I got it, I found out how much pac man world 3 sucks on the DS. Hope I can return the game seeing as it is one of my future x-mas gifts.

Sounds good. I wish I could get NP here.

In fact, I am looking for a particular issue, one from late 2004 which has the ad. for a GBA game SD Gundam Force. I did the ad. for Bandai and I never got to see it in print

If anyone's got a copy with that ad. in, I'd love to buy it off you or see a scan

Great issue, the stickers were great, the poster *might* actually get framed!!

I'm thinking about framing mine too, especially since (hopefully) it would cover up the slight tear from pulling it out of the magazine. Damn perforated edges. At least it was in a white spot near the top and not anywhere near or in the artwork itself. Hard to believe that I've been reading Nintendo Power that long - I've still got that Final Fantasy player's guide issue in minty condition.

I haven't had a subcription to NP for about six or seven years now. Mainly because of how much they pushed a certain kid-focused franchise of theirs that starts with "P". I still have a number of the original player's and strategy guides (4-player special, Mario Mania, Gameboy, Super Gameboy, Super Metroid, Chrono Trigger, Killer Instinct, SNES, Zelda: Link to the Past, Zelda: Link's Awakening). I still need to find a copy of the NES guide.

 

Though slightly off-topic, how good do the NP guides for games now favor over to the BradyGames and Prima guides?

They might have in the past but they really don't anymore. They gave the last couple of games lousy scores, which is what they deserved. Still they do have articles every couple of months, I just don't read them.

 

I have only used one of the np guides, the one for castlevania ds, I just wanted the map. Since their advice was never much helped regarding the bosses. I think I read the one on fire emblem as well, can't recall how helpful it was.

I'll have to stop by the local BAM (Books-A-Million) here in Albany and check it out then. If they're up to the quality I remember them when I used to be a subscriber (and I was one of their first, believe it or not), then I might re-subscribe.
