8th lutz #1 Posted December 23, 2005 (edited) The worst game I heard of is Cosmic Race for Playstation one. It is an import that was given a 0 by gameplayers the Magazine. It was on a 1 to 100 rating. They said "I rather play an intellivion game". It changed their scoring system My other runner ups were Big Rigs, and timekillers for Genesis. I never played these games and I don't plan on. I forgot about a rpg call Maka Maka. Never planned for the snes. I will not play it on an emulator for this the Japan only game. Jess Ragan #2 Posted December 23, 2005 Big Rigs for the PC is the worst game I've never played. I hope I have the good fortune to never play the game at all! "You're Winner?" Not if you own this! JR
Spoon #3 Posted December 23, 2005 Progress Quest. Granted, it's a joke game...but it's a game none the less.

Uber Troll #5 Posted December 23, 2005 Space Ace for thje Jaguar has a timing glitch which makes it effectively impossible to play. I had a friend who said that if I tried to get him to play it agian, he would smash it. He didn't want to, but it was something he would just have to do. bedouin #6 Posted December 23, 2005 Any time a music group gets involved in producing a video game it's usually a recipe for disaster . . . Journey, Wu-Tang Clan, Aerosmith. There's probably others. Surprisingly I didn't mind Moonwalker though.
nester #7 Posted December 23, 2005 That's easy, Taboo: The Sixth Sense for NES. It's a game that you don't even get to play. You ask it questions and it gives you really silly answers. I can't believe it was once a new game that you had to pay good money for. That's really strange to think about sometimes.
shadow460 #8 Posted December 23, 2005 Saturn version of Revolution X. Acclaim simply wasted too good an opportunity with this title. I can see the PSX version sucking due to the fact it didn't have a first party light gun (yet) and it didn't have a mouse yet. But Saturn? With the (then) Stunner and a Sega mouse available, what gives? This port just does not do the arcade version any justice. At all.
cimerians #9 Posted December 23, 2005 There's a game on the NES where your a fat guy who spits fireballs. Thats the worst game I played besides a few Atari Mythicon games.
Classic Pac #10 Posted December 23, 2005 The worst game to me is one I actually played the demo of and that is Bubsy 3-D it is absolutely the worst
joeybastard #11 Posted December 23, 2005 There are so many terrible games it's hard to decide. I'll go with 90% of the O2 library.

THE END." I didn't hate the actual game, mind you, but getting such an abruptly cynical ending was something I'll never forget... EDIT: The worst game I ever played was "Sword of Sodan" on the Genesis. If I ever get caught playing that game again, I'll have to shoot myself! J.Max #17 Posted December 23, 2005 Fantastic Four for the PSOne (by Acclaim). I'll never forget Next Generation Magazine's review. At the end of it they said, "Before we end this review and give this game the one star that it deserves. we'd like to apologize to all of the other games that have ever gotten one star. They are just mostly terrible, and don't deserve to be lumped into the same category with calculated crap like this one."
G.Whiz #18 Posted December 24, 2005 Did anyone here ever play that short Smurf game on C64 (and possibly others)? Damn funny at first: you have a machine gun and hundreds of Smurfs swarm you -- you just spin around shooting. It even showed the blood as you mowed them all down. Came out about the time of the Smurf backlash when they were everywhere, and it just got sickening. Course, that's all there was to the game -- shooting Smurfs. Maybe not the "worst" game ever, but this topic just brought it to mind... ~G

A friend of his who worked at a newspaper asked him to review a performance. His review was short and to the point. IIRC: Gabriella Buonari, a soprano, gave a recital. Why? (nb: I almost certainly have the name wrong). Amazingly strong condemnation in such a short review.
sega saturn x #22 Posted December 24, 2005 I think heavy nova on the genesis is pretty high on the worst game ever list. Sadly not only have I heard of it, I own it.
glitch #23 Posted December 25, 2005 (edited) I didn't look through all the responses, being Xmas eve and all so this may have already been mentioned. My vote for the worst game ever would have to be "Plumbers don't wear ties" for the 3DO. There's a few hours of my life I'll never have back. I've never seen, played, nor heard of a worse game. Sadly I have to admit I actually played this game through twice once normal and then unlocked to see if I actually missed something (like a game) the first time through. I want my 2 and half hours back Edited December 25, 2005 by glitch
Bruce Tomlin #24 Posted December 25, 2005 (edited) Here's my contender: It's Only Rock And Roll for Colecovision 1) It's a text-only Hammurabi-ish game, but about making hit records rather than stockpiling grain for a famine. Instead of peasant riots, you get groupie riots. 2) It makes use of the ten-second-delay subroutine in the Coleco BIOS between "turns". Yes, the ten whole freaking seconds delay from the startup screen. Constantly. 3) It actually does have some graphics and sound... a crappily animated picture of a band playing on stage, accompanied by the beeps and boops of random numbers thrown at the sound chip. If the ten second delays haven't gotten you tearing your hair out already, the sound will. Edited December 25, 2005 by Bruce Tomlin
bergbros2 #25 Posted December 25, 2005 These threads have been posted before and each time I always give the same answer- Swordquest Earthworld/Fireworld. An absolute waste of my time I will never get back on a game that I fell for Atari's cynical contest. Big Rigs will always get the worst game of all time but Swordquest was cynical half-baked sucker punch to early gamers.
