Recommended Posts

We're low on inventory and need your help! If you've been accumulating Atari 2600 systems now is the best time to sell. We'll pay $45.00ea for complete 4 or 6 switch woodgrain Atari 2600 systems.

Each complete system must include 1 working woodgrain 4 or 6 switch Atari brand console, free of major cosmetic defects, two complete and working original Atari joysticks, one working pair of original Atari paddle controllers and one working original Atari brand power supply. A TV/Game switchbox is not required.

We are not purchasing Sears brand systems, Atari2600Jr, black Atari 2600 consoles or heavy case sixers.

Terms of Offer

1. $45.00 price payable upon receipt, Atari2600.com, Chandler, AZ.

2. Freight charges are the responsibility of the seller.

3. Minimum quantity 4ea complete systems.

4. Contact Atari2600.com prior to shipment.

5. Offer remains open until our inventory requirements are satisfied. All systems must arrive no later than 1/7/2006

We'd be happy to provide an offer for collections/accumulations of non-working Atari 2600 woodgrain consoles, Atari joysticks and paddle controllers. Please write.

Why would I have to pay to ship?

Maybe he might want you to open it up as well and give it a thorough cleaning. :ponder:

I always thought the buyer paid for shipping, at least that's how I've done it when making purchases and selling to others.

that's just my opinion

Just look at it this way the offer is for $35 per system and 2600.com pays shipping up to $10 for a total of $45. Seems like a fair offer if your not into selling and dealing with Ebay pains.

This seems pretty good. The minimum is four consoles so it gets a shipper over the initial cost hump with all costs considered. That ($35) is about the going rate for these types of consoles so it's actually a pretty good deal. Good luck!!

The sellers pays shipping. Our offer of $45.00net includes compenstaion for shipping the equipment to AZ.

I have a few to sell if YOU pay the shipping. I just did a shipping estimate to you from me and with what you'd want, it'd cost me $20 just to ship not including getting a box and supplies. No thanks. ;-)

I just wonder what the odds are that anyone has...

FOUR systems

Woodgrain only to boot

each in good shape

each with 2 joysticks

each with a set of paddles

each with a power supply

just lying around doing nothing and that someone is willing to part with all of them.

I thought the person responding to the offer is typically the one to pay for shipping, except in cases involving flat-rate shipping. I see no reason why someone would want to pay more (in total) for a 2600 shipped from Alaska than one delivered in town. Obviously the offer to purchase would be more attractive to those who could ship more cheaply, but then again, that too makes sense. Someone who could not ship the machine cheaply might be better served waiting for a closer buyer, and it would make sense for them to sell to one.

I thought about this for a second...until noticing that you have to include a pair of paddles with each system. Those can be sold for $15 per on ebay, so then you're selling the rest of the set for $30. Take out shipping of ~$10 per console and you're down to $20 per Atari. No thanks

That is a very fair offer. I have sold him over 30 of them to hIm over the past few years. Like Traden says $35 + shipping The people that are declining should do so silently, Since this isn't a How may people want to decline this offer Thread. It sounds like you are being assholes. He has made a fair offer and some people on here will sell them. No hassle no fuss no muss and He we'll pay you fast. Thanks for the $1300 for the systems. :)

Since I don't see a listing fee here...wait...let me doublecheck...no, no listing fee. Objecting to what many feel is a lowball offer =/ being an asshole. Sorry. If you or anyone else have a problem with it,

here's a link to a high volume buying/selling site where you will not see a lot of objections. Feel free to buy/sell whatever for however much you want there. I don't buy videogame merchandise from there anymore, so I could care less. ;-)

I think its fair. I did not have to detail each system and I did not have to deal with the end customer. I don't have to warranty them. I also now have three bins empty in my basement storage. Ended up being about 6 bucks each in shipping and I had the box lying around. So thats 39 bucks for each one? Sounded very fair to me. Could I get more? Yes, but I also know Joe is a stand up kind of guy and supporting him is in the community's interest (IMHO). He's not trying to buy your childhood woodgrain, just the one you paid 5 bucks for at a flea last summer.

Considering what all I have to do to get 85 for one on ebay (with 10 games mind you).....more than fair.

Bummer. I wish I had a few. I pass them up all the time at swap meets and yard sales. I could just Drop them off as I am in the same area. Gotta go tell my wife I told ya so now.

I have an empty woodgrain case in great shape. What will you offer for that?
