does a video light gun work for 7800?

I don't own an Atari brand gun so I can't speak firsthand but I have heard that it's accuracy is pretty far off. I can tell you that a converted SMS Phaser works pretty well for a 7800 and have heard that the Best Electronics gun is pretty good too.

SMS Light Phaser is the easiest to get, but it needs a converter or to be modded.

It's decent--better than the NES gun was on the NES. Mine shoots a tad to the right, but not enough to make me feel like it's inaccurate.

In your opinion, how is it better?
