it brings my grand total of games up to..72 (and 2 dbls).. but it isnt the size (so she says...)that counts.. lol

I am not sure what is next. this quest started off of remembering when I was 7.. looking at all the games in the catalogs and being in awe of the amount of them (back when beserk came out new and was.. what.. $40-$50???)... so I will scan my childhood some more and see what it says.. (though my childhood never said get a cuttle cart.. glad I didnt listen to it then..)

Mostly I am gonna work on my 130xe system and try and hunt for more original equpment for my monster system (i love my 8-bit)..

I have similar motivations for my collection... I'm interested in getting all of the pre-silver label Atari-released cartridges, and I'm almost there! (I have about 4 or 5 left to go.) Likewise my reasoning is based on my childhood dreams of owning every cartridge in the catalog.

I've determined that two particular catalogs, taken together, cover every game in this subset: The last blue cover "narrow" cartoon catalog from 1980 (with 38 games), and the last red cover non-cartoon catalog from 1982 (49 games). A handful of games had been discontinued by the 1982 catalog, and this 1980 one is the last in which they all appear. (Star Ship, Slot Machine, Flag Capture, Surround, Fun With Numbers/Basic Math... I think that's all of them!)

I am trying to resist the temptation now to get all of the label variations (or at least one each of text and picture labels) and the Sears versions!

Can someone verify for me that the red 49-game catalog contained all of the last black picture label games? I believe it was right after this catalog that the SwordQuest games game out and the silver labels were introduced.

I have the cartridge. I'll have to look through my manuals to see if I have the book. The cart itself has the sort-of-rare label misprint that reads, "For Use with Paddle Controllers." (It actually uses the keyboard.)

Would you want to trade if I have the book and the cart? If you're looking for the box, I can't help ya there.

That is very cool of you... I really don't have sqat to trade though.. lol... but sometimes people surprize you.. I just got an e-mail for the individual that hosted the auction.. and he is sending the cart (he couldn't find the intrucs.) along to me for free as an apology..

I admit.. i kinda feel bad about taking it.. accidents happen.. i understand that.. I think this guy must be a game fan, cause I don't find people this cool that are not cart freaks.. lol

If I have the manual, I'll send it to you. I'll search my big plastic bins tonight.
