KIWASABI #1 Posted January 8, 2006 Hey, I found this on Craigslist near me: Working Magnavox Odyssey 2 Game system. Missing TV connection box. Games included: Wall Steet, Quest for the rings, Blockout, Football, Speedway, Skiing, Golf, Armored Encounter, UFO, KC Muchkin, Smitherines, Alien Invaders, and computer intro. ($35) http://seattle.craigslist.org/ele/123493681.html I'm not too knowledgeable on values of older systems(I was only born in 1986 afterall :-p), so is this a steal or just a meh kinda thing? Any insight is appreciated! -Adam
bowser724 #2 Posted January 8, 2006 It is definitely a good deal. The TV connection box can be gotten at Radio Shack, or you could get the Female RCA Coaxial adapter in the AtariAge store.
KIWASABI #3 Posted January 8, 2006 Any guess on what it's worth?
RickHarrisMaine #4 Posted January 9, 2006 If Wall St and Quest for the Rings are complete, its a very good deal, and snap it up
SteveW #5 Posted January 9, 2006 Without Wall Street and Quest For The Rings, the console probably isn't worth that much. It's one of those consoles that you'll play for 20 minutes at most, and then put on a shelf and forget about. If you didn't grow up with it from childhood, you probably won't be all that interested in it.
jetset #6 Posted January 9, 2006 Definetly worth it! Sounds like you're more interested in resale value though? The O2 isn't the most exciting system you can collect for. In fact, for the most part it's pretty blah. I'd say snatch up the deal, sell the boxed games, which will return you back more than your $35 investment, then buy a multicart. You won't be finding that at Radio Shack. I thought only the very last of them used the standard switchbox....

Better be careful posting links to craigslist fom Seattle here. I may have to check these bargains out myself Just kidding..... -Lee
+else #9 Posted January 9, 2006 Standard Switchbox will work. Better yet, do the simple A/V mod. How can you be so sure? Is there some way to easily distinguish which one it needs from the controller color (silver vs black) or something?
Zonie #10 Posted January 9, 2006 Worth it if you want one. I paid $24 for one with only one game.
