purenergy #1 Posted January 9, 2006 (edited) Battlesphere Gold on ebay: Pictures are now with the listing. :!: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=8250166435 I have enjoyed playing this game, but don't use it much anymore, and thought another Jaguar fan would enjoy it. I tested it last night (01/08/06), and it works fine. Battlesphere Gold is in great shape. The box is clean, and looks new. The cartridge is clean, and smoke free. Manual has a slight tear on the front page. Both JUGS and the demo CDs are included. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. MegaManFan #4 Posted January 10, 2006 I wish my backyard had a money tree... 997114 It just so happens mine does. All I have to do is give it the Animal Crossing treatment and bags of bells fall on my head!
+-^CrossBow^- #5 Posted January 10, 2006 Durn Brad...one less for us all to play at the show ehh? Oh well...one of these days I shall have a copy of this for myself...one of these days...hehe... Good luck with the auction. I see it if over $200 already...excellent!
MegaManFan #6 Posted January 10, 2006 Not necessarily one less. If I win I'll bring my Jaguar to Tulsa.

purenergy #8 Posted January 10, 2006 -^Cro§Bow^- : Battlesphere did not get much attention at the OKGE/OVGE shows. Several people said they liked the "looks" of it, but did not want to learn how to play it. MMF: I hope that you do win, as it may be an opportunity to enjoy a Jaguar link-up. I'll finally get to see the eyes on my Catbox again.
MegaManFan #9 Posted January 10, 2006 If I keep getting outbid by this n00b with only 11 on his feedback rating, I'm probably going to give up. I know it's not a shill bidder, but I'm still uncomfortable with such an apparently rank amateur being willing to outspend me for a BSG. Makes me wonder if he's anywhere near as close to a complete Jag collection. Do I need a Catbox to link in? I never actually examined how the set up worked the time I did play it at OVGE a couple years ago.

For a network, I believe there are three choices: Catbox. May be hard to find, but it's cool for everyone to check out. Scatbox. I don't know how hard it would be to get a Scatbox. They work very well. JagLink2. Available here at the AtariAge store for $30. I haven't heard any reviews for this one.
MegaManFan #11 Posted January 11, 2006 Hmm. Okay, I just made my final bid. If I get it I'll buy a JagLink2 from AA. If not it won't matter.
purenergy #12 Posted January 13, 2006 (auction ending soon) Someone asked about International shipping. Yes, I will ship to another country. Please give me an extra day to find the correct rates, and label it correctly. Thanks.
Punisher5.0 #13 Posted January 14, 2006 $355....not bad. You might have got more if you put "Atari Jaguar" in the title. When I look up Jag stuff on ebay that is what I always put in and your auction didn't show up. I suspect that many other people do it the same way (you only had 4 bidders). Apparently "somebody" fell asleep last night before increasing the max. bid, so the game went to somebody else. Too bad. I would´ve gone a lot higher, so if the other deal doesn´t come through, you know where to find me. Cheers, Michael
MegaManFan #15 Posted January 16, 2006 Although as the second highest bidder, I would expect it would default to me in any "Second Chance Offer" scenario, and I have the money in PayPal to pay for it immediately.

Michael_ #18 Posted January 16, 2006 (edited) But if you had somebody bidding on your behalf... isn't that cheating? 1001276 Hardly. First of all it´s my brother. The auction ended in the middle of the night (in Denmark, that is) and on his watch Seriously though, we share a huge collection of both Atari related stuff as well as Non-Atari related. I see absolutely no problem with that. --Michael Edited January 16, 2006 by Palmer Eldritch
ls650 #19 Posted January 16, 2006 I used to have a substantial Jaguar collection, including Battlesphere. (I sold off the collection when I moved overseas.) I thought it was a great game, and I'd love to have a copy, but I don't think I'm willing to spend hundreds of dollars for it. The guys who wrote it used to hint they were going to port it over to another platform, but nothing seems to be coming of that. Sigh. I guess I'll just have to be happy playing 8-bit Star Raiders... I'm not trying to have sour grapes about it but I feel like under those circumstances I never had a fair shot of winning.

I'm not trying to have sour grapes about it but I feel like under those circumstances I never had a fair shot of winning. 1001553 Shill bidding, in my book, is directly the opposite. Buyers (fictional even) related to the seller, inflating the price and in turn pushing the other potential buyers to go even higher. We bid as one. We haven´t been outbidding ourselves, that´d be kind of stupid wouldn´t it? I´m the main protagonist here. I told my brother I wanted Battlesphere, and since I don´t even have an eBay account, we used his. --Michael EDIT: And Punisher, You`ve got mail.
