Sr. Ferraz
The consoles for Atari 2600 manufactured in Brazil basically are NTSC (Stella chip). As example: the console manufactured for the "Polyvox" (similar to the original manufactured in U.S.A.) is NTSC. The difference is the place of an adapting plate (board circuit) for the PAL-M (transcoder) and the replacement (exchange) of the crystal of NTSC for PAL-M. When the plate is removed and substitutes the crystal the Polyvox console is NTSC. The first plates of Atari 2600 from Polyvox (1983) were American or equal. They had a smaall plate and the crystal was substituted to be the PAL-M. This work in the same way of the Video Cassette. When the video tape is recorded in the PAL-M or NTSC the image is perfect here. In the same way the cartridge manufactured in Brazil in PAL-M and the American in NTSC have perfect images. The photos are courtesy of my friend Eduardo Luccas.
