+doctorclu #1 Posted January 11, 2006 Related to the Legend of the Red Dragon topic, is there a version of Pascal or Turbo Pascal for the Atari ST, and if so, where can I find it?

krupkaj #3 Posted January 11, 2006 There is Turbo Pascal or Pure Pascal (newer version of Turbo with objects) I have used it a lot back in the days. ZebuLand is written in Pure Pascal for example.

For those familiar with the game "Legend of the Red Dragon" we have the current coder interested in possibly trying provided he has.. 1) An Atari System 2) A version of Pascal So if we can find a version of Turbo Pascal, that would be great. Also, has anyone tried development on the ST in a emulated environment?
javiero #5 Posted January 12, 2006 I think Pure Pascal is still commercial, i don't speak German, but you can check ASH Software page for more information... Javier.

danwinslow #9 Posted January 13, 2006 Modula 2 is available as well, I beleive in a PD version. It's very similar to Pascal, but quite a bit more powerful.
Goochman #10 Posted January 17, 2006 I used Alice Pascal back in College and it was great! Turbo Pascal was the preferred environment and Alice was fairly close on syntax and capabilities. One thing I loved about Alice was it ensured all your brackets were lined up and your variable tags were spelled correctly - it wouldnt let you put something incorrect in
Harry_Dodgson #11 Posted January 20, 2006 Also, has anyone tried development on the ST in a emulated environment? I do 7800 development on an emulated ST, but I don't think that's what you are asking. I also do Lynx development on an emulated Amiga I let the emulators run as fast as they can which takes the pain out of compiling (relatively speaking) large files. Keep this information flowing. 999579[/snapback] I was searching through my storage boxes and I found: Personal Pascal v2.05 by ICD (formerly owned/released by OSS?) Singe floppy - I've not been able to find a manual (yet, but I'm still looking for it). I copied the contents of the floppy to the HD on my Mega ST4. It runs, I opened up the editor and looked at some files. Seems okay, although honestly I didn't try a lot with it. What version of Pascal was it that guy from Legend Of The Red Dragon needed? Thanks!

Despite the bad marketing of ICD and practices you have to admit, ICD did some things right.

Man, that would be something if he could. ICD did many things right. Sheesh, I've got that version of Pascal, the Adspeed accelerator, the Link2... Quite a long list actually. :-)
