crunchysuperman #1 Posted January 12, 2006 (edited) There are some strange Sears labels listed in the BLOLV that I was wondering if anyone here could confirm the existence of: Backgammon text ?-99848 Blackjack picture 49-75181 Math text 6-99808 Space Combat text 99803 Superman text ?-99845 Video Chess text ?-99817 I'm pretty much done with all known Sears variations, save these and a couple more. If they're just mistakes in the list, I'd like to know so I can stop pulling my hair out looking for them! Christophero Sly #2 Posted January 12, 2006 Also, could anyone confirm text label Gunslinger with green text on the end label... similar to the green text Stellar Track I assume?
Rom Hunter #3 Posted January 12, 2006 (edited) I've never seen the ones with the question marks. I'm uncertain about Blackjack and Math. BTW: that label variations list is pre-historic. Edited February 25, 2006 by Rom Hunter
crunchysuperman #4 Posted January 12, 2006 Yeah, I know it's an old list - I have a ton that aren't listed there. Still, if they were put up at one point, they either exist or were a typo at that time. I figure the question marks are on the list were because they were uncertain if there was a "6-" prefix on the label or not or not. And I'm betting the Math variation does exist, as there are several other examples of that prefix added to an existing number. The blackjack, however, is a completely different number, and therefore has me stumped. Anyway, thanks for the confirmation on the Space Combat! crunchysuperman #8 Posted January 12, 2006 The part #'s are what's in question - those are unreadable. Also, the question about Gunslinger is the color of the end label text.
Rom Hunter #9 Posted February 24, 2006 (edited) The model number of Black Jack is actually from Video Chess (49-75181). The model number of Space Combat is actually from Outer Space (99803). Does anybody own these: Outer Space 6-99803 Speedway II 6-99804 Black Jack 6-99805 Chase 6-99807 Math 6-99808 Edited February 24, 2006 by Rom Hunter

If they're just mistakes in the list, I'd like to know so I can stop pulling my hair out looking for them! 999021 I wrote the Giant List of Atari 2600 Label Variations. I don't have any of these that have the "?" in the number. I assume someone told me about them but they looked strange and I couldn't get confirmation. Nobody had digital cameras back then and very few people had scanners, so it made it difficult to confirm these types of things. The only one on this list that I have is Space Combat 99803, which I see someone else has already confirmed.

If there are minor differences in the label other than the number, it would be helpful to have a point of reference for my search.
Rom Hunter #14 Posted February 25, 2006 I would also like to see a scan of a Space Combat with model number 99803, because AFAIK 99803 is the model number of Outer Space.
Atari2600guru #15 Posted February 25, 2006 I would also like to see a scan of a Space Combat with model number 99803, because AFAIK 99803 is the model number of Outer Space. 1024239 Man, you guys are good. I just took a close look at the cart and compared it to an Outer Space. Turns out my cart is a manufacturing error. The main label (with the part number) is for Outer Space and the end label is for Space Combat. (I'm not sure which game it actually is since my only power supply busted recently.) Is anyone keeping track of these manufacturing errors? I'm sure the GLOLV is missing a bunch of them.
2600land #16 Posted February 25, 2006 (edited) My copy of Target Fun says 6-99802, which isn't in the AA list. All it has is 49-somethingorrather. EDIT: Looked at the BLOLV. Here's a picture of my label. The Es aren't really all that scrunched together, are they? Edited February 25, 2006 by 2600land
Rom Hunter #17 Posted February 25, 2006 Every Sears cartridge model number (also yours) is mentioned here: http://www.atarimania.com/lst_soft-Total-1...I-SOFT_LIB.html
froggger2 #18 Posted February 26, 2006 (edited) [My Sears Math instructions have number 6-99808. My Sears Math cartridge has number 99808. I don't know what number is on the Math box or if these instructions and cartridge came from the same box. Rom Hunter #19 Posted February 26, 2006 (edited) Thanks, frogger2. I think this explains the confusion. I checked the other manuals too and they all have 6- before the model number. Edited February 26, 2006 by Rom Hunter
Rom Hunter #20 Posted February 26, 2006 (edited) I noticed that Pong Sports has a 1975 (Pong) copyright: http://www.atariage.com/cart_page.html?SoftwareLabelID=370 Must be the oldest Atari 2600 label in the world... Philflound #21 Posted June 1, 2006 (edited) I decided I'm going to remove all variations with a ? under the Sears section in the variation list. If someone sees that they have a variation not listed, then contact me with the scan and info I need and I'll add it. I removed the Space Combat with the Outer Space product # too. I'm going to soon put up a list of variations with all question marks and if they aren't confirmed within 1 month, then they're getting booted off the list. I need the Math manual added, but can't make out the CO number on the bottom left. I also need page count, Rev info, printed in..., and copyright dates. Thanks. I never knew about this many label variations. There is no way I'm collecting those suckers. I'll stick with Sears Text/Pic and Atari Text/Pic. Philflound #23 Posted June 1, 2006 (edited) Ok, I got pissed off and decided to remove all Atari variations with a ?. I'm working diligently at getting this list updated. I'm almost done with Chris Sly's list, but will have to get more specific info from him. His list is missing a few important details, especially whether or not these late releases have sliding cb protectors or none at all. Phil I edited this post. Since I only have 20mb of space on the free site, I started to do the variations and it just isn't feasible. I won't come anywhere near getting all those scans into that small a space. But, I'm still going to make a database of scans and keep them on my own computer. When I really get a ton of them, I'll put it in the giant list of variations that you can contact me for any scans you wish to see. I'll put some kind of * or something next to the variation to show that I have a scan of that label/cart. On a seperate note, instead of nixing the new website, I decided that maybe I'll show the common variations that you'll run across. Stuff like the 1st, 2nd, 3rd text, and maybe the collages of the major differences so people can see what to look for.
