MrAtari2600 #1 Posted January 13, 2006 Ok I hear about this rumour which is probably false but anyways why not dream eh? There was a landslide and atari put over 1 million copies of the ET game in it. If you found it what would you do?/ ' just a question for fun.
8th lutz #2 Posted January 13, 2006 (edited) I would get all the carts if they're in good shape, and use them for making tables, and ect. If Super Mario Bro/Duck Hunts games are used for making tables, and etc., why not? I would sell the tables and etc. on ebay then. I doubt if they could be used for future 2600 homebrew or hack games. No plans on making them into a massive et shrine or temple. Edited January 14, 2006 by 8th lutz

Pixelboy #4 Posted January 13, 2006 Landslide? JR 999861 Probably meant "landfill".
JB #5 Posted January 14, 2006 That much ET in one place is an evil the likes of which the world has never seen. I'd nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
JimmydelaKopin #6 Posted January 14, 2006 *swing swing swing*...ahh the right baseball bat for the job. Here, dead horsie horsie horsie... Actually, last I read about this, the landfill section with the E.T. games was covered over with concrete...just like they use to contain nuclear waste. Wonder if there's a connection? silverpoodleman #7 Posted January 14, 2006 I move the CCT (Center for Conspiracy Theories) there and build the new national office made from...you guessed it, ET carts
shep #8 Posted January 14, 2006 Take as many copies as I could home and sell them on eBay. Being sure to state over and over how "rare" they are
BydoEmpire #9 Posted January 14, 2006 shep, don't forget to put "@K" and capitalize RARE in the description! Making furniture out of them is a fine idea. Or maybe give a big boxes of the carts to 2600 homebrew makers.
liveinabin #10 Posted January 14, 2006 If the cartridge shells were still okay, I'd sell them to Albert

Red 5 #12 Posted January 14, 2006 I'd call Stevie Knicks and Drew Barrymore. I took my love, I took it down Climbed a mountain and I turned around I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills ’till the landslide brought me down Oh, mirror in the sky What is love Can the child within my heart rise above Can I sail thru the changing ocean tides Can I handle the seasons of my life Well, I’ve been afraid of changing ’cause I’ve built my life around you But time makes you bolder Children get older I’m getting older too Oh, take my love, take it down Climb a mountain and turn around If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills Well the landslide will bring it down If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills Well maybe the landslide will bring it down
+Random Terrain #13 Posted January 14, 2006 I would sell each broken piece for $10,000 on ebay and every piece would sell because most people are stupid and would buy just about anything for large amounts of money.
christianscott27 #14 Posted January 14, 2006 i have some shoeboxes in the hall closet with perhaps a dozen copies of ET, anyone wish to experience the magic is free to come over and "discover" them. just imagine how it would be if there were 10000x more and they were covered with dirt! i remember one time i was at the flea market and this guy 20 boxed copies of "strawberry shortcakes musical match up" that had been rained on then dried out... the thrill lives with me to this day! Sonic #15 Posted January 14, 2006 i would dig up them all and make a pair shoes, some cell phones and backpack and out of them, then i would trade all the extras to gamecrazy
ls650 #16 Posted January 14, 2006 I thought I'd read somewheres a story about someone trying to track down the 'landfill' of ET carts; he found it to be an urban myth.
Famicoman #17 Posted January 14, 2006 I think its true. Stingray covered it before he stopped coming around.
