Paranoid
Classic PC equipment Notebook/Laptop/Subnote Compaq Presario 305 notebook. Intel Celeron 333 Mhz CPU Upgraded to 128mb RAM 4gb Hard Drive Upgraded DVD-ROM player Notebook detaches from docking bay to become an ultra-lite subnote. Docking Bay contains floppy and DVD-ROM drive 56k Modem Win 98 installed. Works great. Battery does not hold a charge. Excellent as an alternative to a portable DVD-Player and PC. Why buy a portable DVD player that can only play movies and has a tiny 7" screen when you can have an entire PC for the same price? $150 or best offer. Atariage price... $100 plus shipping and handling or trade for a USB/Programmable Atari 5200 multicart. I also have a variety of PCMCIA cards available, including 10/100 and 802.11g network cards. Add wireless connectivity. Great for camping, car trips, etc. I have the following equipment for sale (working unless otherwise noted): Just Added: Macintosh IIvx. 12/530 (12mb ram, 530mb HD. The 80 mb in it when I got it was dead, so I swapped out the hard drive from my dead IIfx, below and it works fine). Built in Superdrive and CD-Rom drive, keyboard, mouse, all cords, 14" Apple RGB monitor... This unit is in nice condition. I'll include the Ethernet card from the IIfx as well. Loaded with OS, utilities, applications, netscape, etc. This system is ready to plug in and go. Mac Plus, Keyboard, Mouse, untested - boots to , no OS disks. Performa 430 12/70, Apple LC style paper white monocrome display (or I've got an IBM 13" VGA with adaptor)... PowerMac 6100/66 - boots intermittently, Mac Chime at startup has dischord. Mac IIFX with dead 80mb apple HD and RAM. Will not power up Osborne-1 Luggable. Sparcstation 5 and Sparcstation 10 systems with monitor, keyboard, etc. Both with Debian installed. KDE runs, but slow. Would work better with a lighter Windows Manager or as a CLI only. Solaris 6.8 available with the Sparcs. Amiga 2000 Supra 8mb Memory card, 4mb populated, no drivers, disks, documentation. Worked when pulled from unit in mid 90s. (Just the card, not the whole Amiga. I've got a SUPRA SCSI card for A2000 around here, too)/ SOLD 486 color notebook, no USB, no CD. Win95 or Linux capable. Additional misc. equipment including motherboards, cpus, ram, CD drives, SCSI drives and enclosures. 386, 486... I'm interested in trading the lot for a MAME console or mixed parts for a gutted Arcade cabinet. I also collect Atari 2600/5200 stuff... and I'm interested in an Atari 8 bit PC or a 7800. some images available at... http://photobucket.com/albums/b172/Paranoid_Delusions/Tech/ I'm also willing to entertain trades for classic 2600 and 5200 stuff, with an emphasis on 5200 stuff... in particular joysticks, power bricks, entire units, games or a Multi-game cart. I'd be very excited to find a Supercharger with Dragonstomper, as well. If I can't find someone to take these systems soon, they're headed to a local PC dismanteller/recycler... so... make offers if you're interested. ADDING: 15 Intellivision Carts, loose, no manuals, with original Intellivision. Intellivision works. Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Bowling Astrosmash Autoracing Space Battle Tennis Las Vegas Poker & Blackjack Tron Deadly Discs NBA Basketball Mission X Boxing Loco-Motion Lock'n'chase Utopia Star Strike Trade... sell... whatever... Is there an Intellivision site comparable to this that rates rarity of INTV carts? Also... various 10mb PCMCI cards, with dongles... Dlink Air CF 802.11g wireless card with PCMCIA adaptor. This will work in any Compact Flash capable PocketPC, or in a notebook or desktop with the PCMCIA adaptor. MARGE DVD-to-go CF DVD decoder card. This will allow a marginal notebook (say a 300Mhz or so) with a DVD player to play DVD players without stuttering. Tempest
Hmm... I wonder if I could use that Mac Classic or one of the other Macs to transfer files to my IIgs... I think they can read PC-DOS formatted disks. What do they go for these days? Tempest
8bitclassics
Find a IIE card and get like an LC575. You can setup a HD partition to transfer files and create disks. Corey
Paranoid
All this stuff goes for a song and a dance, I think. http://cgi.ebay.com/Apple-Macintosh-Mac-Cl...1QQcmdZViewItem is a current eBay auction for a 2/40. I'm interested in 5200 and 2600 stuff, with an emphasis on 5200 stuff. Shipping is the killer.
Steppenwolffan21
I would've bought that Mac in an instant, but it's on eBay now. Thanks alot. You could've atleast have waited a month, then eBayed it.

You could've atleast have waited a month, then eBayed it. 1007453[/snapback] I keep forgetting to check back here instead of in PM... But, tonight I *just* put two of the Macs up on eBay... the Power Mac 6100/66 and the Performa 430... But neither have had any bids, if you are interested in either, or another... let me know. You might end up getting a deal on eBay for my machines too... I did no reserve and there are quite a few LIKE systems with zero bids there. My guess is that the ones I've posted on eBay are not going to sell. Tried to power the IIfx up tonight, and it did not start. I suspect a faulty power supply, as it was working when I shut it down. It has a bunch of extra RAM and 500gb hard drive, I believe. Video card... ethernet card... might be good for parts... Anyhow... I'm an easy guy to deal with... if you're interested in one of the machines that isn't already spoken for, I'll work with you. If you're interested in one that IS spoken for... if the current deals fall through, I'll let you know. But I'm not starting bidding wars or trying to drive the prices up. I just want to find homes for these systems and clear out space in my garage. I'm *really* interested in trades for Superchargers with libraries... doesn't need to be originals. Stella Gets a New Brain is fine with me, so long as it works. Guess I should add, I also would be interesting in considering trades for Atari 8 bit PCs (400, 800... etc) or Colecovision/Adam systems. Paranoid
BUMP Adding... I've found the software drivers for the Supra 8mb (4mb populated) Amiga 2000 card and for the Super SCSI Amiga 2000 card... And I've found my old Digiview Gold. This is the Amiga 500/2000 digitizer (I suppose it will work with other Amigas, too). It allows you to hook up a video composite-in to the parallel or serial port. It was the first "affordable" scanner for a home PC, and used a little robot to turn a color wheel to scan in a digital image. This is how all the Amiga porn was generated back in the day. Anyhow... I've just got the thing that plugs into the back. I might have the software somewhere, but I do not have the robot or stand anymore. Still, it is an interesting little item. I'm currently interested in a 7800 system, willing to trade. Edited March 1, 2006 by Paranoid
Paranoid
I'm going to run the Mac IIvx here for a couple of days, then it is going to go up on eBay... just so that no one is upset or surprised when that happens.

I'll trade you the whole Mac IIvx *and* a Sparcstation 10 (or you can even choose a Sparcstation 5 with the 110Mhz card and upgraded memory) for a decent 7800 system with a couple sticks and maybe a power supply or two. You have to pick up the shipping on your items, though. (I'll pay the shipping on the 7800. Heh). You'll be able to relive your memories *and* see how much better it would have been on the Sparc, at the same time. Seriously, if someone lived nearby to Sacramento, I'd let them pretty much pick and choose from the nice machines that I've got sitting out in the garage for a trade like that... but shipping is a *killer* on these big heavy systems. Crazy Paranoid's Obsole... er, "CLASSIC" PC blowout sale!!! We're practically GIVING these things away! Heh. Oh... I just saw that you were talking about the Sparcstation 5 versus the 10. Actually, interestingly enough... the Sparcstation 5 that I have runs circles around the 10. Depending on how you've got your system configured, the 10 isn't always the fastest. They came in a number of different configurations, and there were a lot of upgrade paths on them. I paid more than $1000 for the 10... and someone gave me the 5... and the 5 blows the doors off the 10. Heh. Paranoid
Just a quick bump on this... I'm going out of town soon, so I don't have time for a formal update. But I just came into a BOATLOAD of stuff, including two fairly recent PowerPCs (pre G/iMac OS 8.x Macs)... a couple of G4s, a ton of flat bed scanners, external SCSI CDRWs, laptop parts, (keyboards, LCDs, drives, power bricks, whatever you might find on a parted out laptop.)... and PCs... PC cases, cards, and misc. too... When I get back I'm going to try and get it organized and published here. As usual, I'm willing to make trades or real good deals on this stuff. Some of the people who asked about low end Internet ready PCs, I'm still not ready to let much of that first batch go, I've got them allocated I think, but I'll have some similar older P2, and even P3 systems, maybe some AMD stuff too, available. A lot of this stuff, I just have to move, and I'm not trying to come out "ahead" on it, just get it out of my garage and keep it out of landfills, so feel free to lowball me once I get it posted. I got most of the stuff as overstock from a buddy who is closing his consulting business and moving to Texas, so I'm probably going to have to do some work on building some systems, and there may be some odd configurations, and it is all going to be "as-is" stuff... But anyhow... I'll give you guys first crack at MOST of it... The G4s, I think I'll keep one and the other one will go on eBay or Craigslist... but those both work excellent. Paranoid
I want to be clear... I went back and read the thread, and I'm not sure where this is coming from but... The Mac Classic has been traded already. I've got a Mac Plus, and an LC, and a couple of Power PCs, and a Mac IIvx... so, there are classic Mac systems still to be had here... but nothing quite as charming or suitable for making an aquarium out of as the Mac Plus.
Paranoid
One last update here... There are three of you PMing me about the Mac Classic, and also evidently interested in the remaining Mac Plus... The Mac Classic is a 680x0 with fairly modern features, using ADB keyboards and mice, upgradable SIMM memory, and is pretty well suited to running Mac OS 7... which was the killer Mac OS of that era. But I don't have it anymore. Only the PLUS. The Plus is a first generation Mac, using the old keyboard that had a RJ-11 connector and the mouse that was a DB-9 serial mouse. I don't think it has upgradable memory, and it is really suited to OS 6.x. It has a built in SCSI 50 pin interface that works with external SCSI drives... so you can set it up with a cheap, external small SCSI drive. But... if you guys want a classic type Mac... the LC/Performa that I have is basically the same as a Classic, only it comes in a pizzabox style case and has a seperate monitor. The IIvx is a VERY powerful Mac from the same era. You could think of it as a Classic on steroids. So there are three Mac systems available that are all from around the same era... one first generation, two second generation, three third generation (early PowerPC/Quadra Macs), and one fourth generation (Mac G4). We'll call the current Intel Macs "5th generation". EVERYTHING up to the fourth generation (G4/iMac) used the ADB for keyboards and mice EXCEPT the first generation. All of the Macs after the first generation are fairly expandable. EVERYTHING prior to the 4th generation used SCSI drives exclusively, and did not use PC style (PCI) cards. I'm not a Mac guy... so nothing I say can be held against me... To my knowledge, the only program I've encountered that requires a Mac Plus, 128, 512 or Classic is a thing called MacPlaymate, which is an adult program that was pretty crude, anyhow. There may be others... but the VAST majority of software that will run on any of those Macs will also run on everything up to the PowerPCs/Quadra. So my point really is... there are three of you, and three systems that would probably do the trick... but two of you aren't going to end up with a cute little Mac like the one from Bloom County. Right now, I'm not even sure exactly what I have or how to price it, so it'll be about a week and a half before I have answers. In all cases, they're not worth much, and the shipping will probably be more than the price of the computer. But I promise I'll get back to you, and I promise I'll be fair. Paranoid
Well, there are piles of motherboards in this lot I picked up, some with and some without motherboards, and the guy was an AMD whore, so... I suspect there will be some Athalons and older AMD cpus in the pile... I'll know more in a couple of weeks. Horrible time for a vacation. Yeah, the LC, the IIvx, and the PowerPCs can all be hooked up to a variety of color monitors. The IIvx comes with it's own color monitor, the LC has a black and white apple monitor, and I probably have an Apple to VGA adaptor around here somewhere, too. Paranoid
*bump* So Steppanwolffan... I've got some stuff, including an Athalon 2400... I haven't really checked it all out yet, or what MBs I have... but, you'll understand, you'll have to make payment first before I'll ship. There is older stuff in there too... but the Athalon 2400 is the newest and most powerful CPU in the batch... and there should be a motherboard for it somewhere in there. I've also added a Notebook to the original listing above, with a discounted price for AtariAge members. I've got the same item listed on Craigslist for $150 OBO. http://sacramento.craigslist.org/sys/154967381.html I'm also selling: Macintosh G4 tower, Dual Processor 450Mhz, 384mb RAM, 30gb Hard Drive, CD, USB Mouse and Mac or aftermarket Keyboard (your choice), AGP RAGE 128 Pro, Apple Modem, Built in 10/100 (1000?) Ethernet, 2 USB, 2 Firewire, Adaptec Ultrawide SCSI PCI, $375 OBO Can add ZIP 250 and DVD-ROM or CD-RW drive... e-mail for details. Also available, an assortment of SCSI flat-bed scanners. Monitor not included (I have monitors available seperately). Debian Linux or Mac OS X Tiger installed (your choice). Works perfectly. AtariAge price, $300 plus shipping and handling... and as usual, I will consider trades (again, very interested in an Atari 5200 USB programmable multicart). Pictures at : http://sacramento.craigslist.org/sys/154595547.html And... Jornada 560 PDA, 64mb RAM, Power Adaptor, NEW cradle, PocketPC 2002, StrongARM 206Mhz CPU. Missing protective plastic flip up cover. Nice screen and case, some minor scratches. Unit works fine on battery and AC. Includes DLink CF 802.11b wireless card. Includes assortment of PocketPC software. Windows Media 8, Internet Explorer. Add a CF flash card to store MP3s and WMF format music files. $120 OBO incl. free, PDA case (your choice, leather or Bodyglove Neoprene). AtariAge price, $80 plus shipping and handling... http://sacramento.craigslist.org/sys/154599132.html I haven't gotten down to the classic mac systems yet, I've been too busy with these newer, big ticket items. As soon as I get the older Macs sorted out, I'll let you guys who were interested know. Edited April 27, 2006 by Paranoid

Paranoid
Ah... it will be much cheaper than that... I'm not even sure what a AMD 2400 CPU should go for... but it is JUST the CPU. No fan, no motherboard... If you want, I could certainly build a system AROUND this CPU, though. I imagine if I put together something like... AMD 2400, CD-Rom, 4-6gb hard drive, 256mb of RAM, Mini or Mid Tower case... I'd price that SYSTEM at $150 plus shipping and handling. Which is another thing I should mention. I can build custom systems from these used parts at a significant savings over NEW costs, if anyone is interested. You'll get a 30 feet or 30 second warranty on any used parts, but I'll test and give a DOA warranty at the very least. So on the above example, I could substitute a CD-RW, or DVD-ROM... or new parts (bigger hard drive, DVD (+)(-) RW, etc... or make the system more barebones and you could add your own parts.... whatever... If anyone is interested. Edited April 27, 2006 by Paranoid

Paranoid
Ok. The AMD 2400 would probably fit the bill, but my guess is that you'll want to do it with no video card and add your own. I don't think I have anything that is actually up to the task that I'd want to get rid of. Let me see if I can dig up a motherboard, some RAM, a fan, and a case and I'll work up a price quote for you for a barebones sytem. You can add your own drives, video card, mouse and keyboard.
