Cybergoth #1 Posted January 30, 2006 Hi there! Since my first poll about this series clearly showed that the original 2 side-scrollers will win over the Maximo/Firebrand spin-offs easily, I'm now curious which console home version is generally considered to be the best Greetings, Manuel
Michael_ #2 Posted January 30, 2006 (edited) My vote goes to the Genesis version of Ghouls with (although it´s not part of the poll) the C64 version of Ghosts´n´Goblins as a close second. Super G´n´G (SNES) is quite good also, but insanely difficult to a degree where it almost (but not quite) wrecks the balance of the game. MCHufnagel #3 Posted January 30, 2006 I picked Ghouls & Ghosts for the Genesis also. It was challenging to say the least. I never played Super Ghouls & Ghosts until I picked up the Capcom Classics disc for PS2. And I thought Ghouls & Ghosts was hard! Hats off to anyone who has beat this. figgler #4 Posted January 30, 2006 Super is my favourite in the poll. It took what was good about the Genny version and made it, well Super. The haunted boat level is one the greatest things ever I must say. Also, had I known about the previous poll at the time, I'd have voted for Gargoyle's Quest 2. The Gargoyle trilogy is all kinds of awesome and although it's difficult at least it's possible to finish them all

The Gargoyle trilogy is all kinds of awesome and although it's difficult at least it's possible to finish them all 1009577[/snapback] Gargoyle's Quest trilogy is brilliant, it was really more of a hidden gem, because the creator of the Ghosts N Goblins series wanted to make a side story and pretty much funded this small project. Yet it's quite impressive that it expanded to three consoles As for GnG poll, my vote goes to Ghouls N Ghosts on Genesis/Megadrive, simply because it has the most impressive gameplay. Super GnG however is gorgeous, but really focused on the double jumps and tricks you can pull off to escape the dangerous situation. While Ghouls N Ghosts is more "grin and bare it" Nobody will vote Ghosts N Goblins for some odd reason across any forum, simply because it is still the most vicious of the series... Let's not forget Maximo: Ghosts to Glory and Maximo Vs. The Army of Zin The only thing that makes me really excited is "Xtreme Ghouls N Ghosts" for PSP. I can't stand PSP, but this is pretty much the only thing that makes wanna get up and play a PSP

Well, I mean I thought I beat it. Turned out I missed the golden feather or whatever it was and I had to start off at the beginning again at an even more insanely difficult level of play. After that I vowed never to play it again.
sega saturn x #7 Posted January 30, 2006 Ever since an aggravated session Ghouls 'N Ghosts on the genesis ended in my slamming my fist on the genesis I haven't played it since. To be clear this is something that has happened once in a blue moon, and it caused the sound on my genesis to work poorly. So for me the games are simply to hard to be enjoyable. That is the only game ever to really get me in a state of total and utter rage.
