I was looking to bid on this, but the final price was higher than what I paid for the whole package(4port 5200 with trackball, 3 controllers, and 4 common carts with 130xe and disk drive). My question is how much do just these switchboxes run? I was just looking to get the 5200 running. Especially since I got 5200 MULE.

Better off MODing your 5200 it would be cheaper than that auction for sure.

Yes, I was going to do that, but if I can get the switchbox for a few bucks I would not mind. If I will have to mod it, I would have to wait until I get the parts.

I actually did a project where I made a proper 5200 switchbox based on the schematics. You do not want to know what it cost me to create the prototypes. I've been pondering selling off one of the two I built. There's no way I'd get my money back on em' but it's pretty sweet for RF if I say so myself. The other option is in the 5200 FAQ. I've continued to ponder ordering a panel of PWBs and just selling the stuffed boards to people. It would still be pretty costly no matter how I slice it.

 

Best Electronics may still have New Old-Stock (NOS) switchboxes too.
