Cybergoth #1 Posted February 7, 2006 Hi there! ...how do you do that easy and safe? Just received Secret Quest with one of the things broken, so I can't insert it Greetings, Manuel
+Omegamatrix #2 Posted February 7, 2006 Manuel, Take some plastic stirsticks and insert them into your 2600 port on the side which the broken tab would go into. Trim them down so they are short enough not to touch the game, but long enough to pull back out. Now you should be able to put the game in?
+FujiSkunk #3 Posted February 7, 2006 If all else fails, you can use a 7800.
JagFan422 #4 Posted February 7, 2006 (edited) or take the cart apart and just remove it all together so that just the game cart is showing. There are a few manufacturers that didn't use that thing altogether. Actually don't do that, you'll ruin the label because the screw should be under the label. Unless you don't have a label on the cart. Edited February 7, 2006 by JagFan422

Ok, I'll try that! or take the cart apart and just remove it all together so that just the game cart is showing. There are a few manufacturers that didn't use that thing altogether. Oh no, it's not that the cart is not opening, it's the VCS PCB slot that is not opening. Actually don't do that, you'll ruin the label because the screw should be under the label. Unless you don't have a label on the cart. Hm... well there's worse things than visible screws. Maybe I should try transplanting the inner plastic things from a spare red label cartridge? Is that an easy fix to do, for someone as lefthanded as me?

Cybergoth #10 Posted February 7, 2006 Well, I cut out a nose from the JH cartridge, so that will do for the moment...

A.J. Franzman #13 Posted March 27, 2006 Just an FYI to everyone, the things that stick into the cart and into the cart port to open them up and allow the cart to be fully plugged in are called KEYS.

Not a problem--I had to transplant a Solaris chip into a new cart, and it came off without a hitch
