Bandai Golf Pebble Beach NES

Well, being the avid fan of NES golf games, I picked up Bandai's Pebble Beach challenge and I have to say, I am underwhelmed. The game looks ok, but everything else is all wrong. Its only slightly better than the original NES Golf. The interface is very confusing. You have to select an option to see the course. They give no range for clubs, and only show the distance to the pin once between shots. The swing meter is pretty small and while easy to be accurate, leaves little room for play. There doesn't appear to be anyway to add spin to the ball. The aiming is based on a radial crosshair that makes precise shots a nightmare.

 

All in all, this is one golf game for the NES that can be given a miss.
