Inky #1 Posted February 13, 2006 (edited) Got a generous amount of money back from taxes, and decided to invest in some gaming... So here goes: -- Gameboy DS. (Wife's b-day present) Wow, this system is slick! I love the dual-screen setup, and it has some really cool features. Will be investing in a wireless router for it soon. -- Animal Crossing Wild World. Changed enough from the original (I like how the town screen scrolls ), and the stylus really works well in many facets of the game, although I still prefer moving your character with the gamepad. --Gameboy SP. This was for me. I didn't want to spend another $129 on a DS (although I easily could have). I like it much better than my advance. The surprise with the DS and SP was that I didn't need to buy additional batteries, as they come with a rechargable. IMHO, this was a good and well-thought out decision on the "Big N's" part. -- Marble Madness / Klax -- Rampart /Gauntlet Both these GBA titles are good, but they all have some annoying flaws (with the exception of Klax). Gauntlet, you can walk right through death, as well as some other minor collision detection problems. Still, they aren't bad enough to take anything away from the gameplay. Rampart, if you wall in ground forces, they don't die, and can still kill your castle. The cursor seems to move too fast. I liked the lynx control system better. Marble Madness looks good, but just isnt suited for the 4-way pad on the GB SP. They are all fun, save these glitches. -- Super MOnkey Ball 2. Owned it before, but had to sell it for personal reasons. Still fun, kids still love it (as does daddy. -- Spongebob Squarepants MOvie Game. This is OK. Its basically the same game as "Battle for Bikini Bottom". I do like being able to power up the various moves you can learn, but feel the screen can get too confusing and cluttered at times. The cut scenes are nowhere near as good as in BFBB. How anyone else? What tax time purchase you make? Edited February 13, 2006 by Inky

Seems everyone else gets money.....I have to pay the biggest tax bill I've ever had this year. Well, I guess I can take comfort in the fact the government spends the money so well......*gag* So no new consoles.
SHAGOHOD X99 #6 Posted February 15, 2006 I'm going to probably save up a small portion of whatever it is I get back to put towards a PS3 system, since right now the X360 doesn't have anything I want on it and I'm not too big on Online Gaming. Right now what's calling to me is that KILLZONE 2 and STRANGLEHOLD ~Hard-Boiled 2~
